I don't like kids that cheat. But if you have to pick between killing a team versus just saying "if we think you cheat in a match, then you're banned so don't do it," then I think it'd be better.

It isn't a toleration for cheating but merely the pragmatic realization TPG doesn't have the benefit of stopping out-of-match cheating and killing a team.

Well the problem here mg is that for people who still enjoy playing dod, 12 mans and scrims account for 90% of time played. So when people are cheating in 12 mans and scrims it's actually MORE damaging to dod than when people cheat in matches.

And yes, I know: we're all losers for playing dod.

I was just confused as to how I got thrown into mitch's camp.

I still play (albeit rarely, and badly), so I guess I see both sides of this issue.

There is a TON of cheating in 12mans and scrims. It's really, really bad. It makes sense, it's a dead game.

Personally, I don't really care. I was never a fan of banning people for cheating outside of league play as an admin, especially as the community was bleeding players, and I took a lot of crap for that as it was a divisive issue, as it still is.

However, I understand that there is a small number of people still trying to enjoy the game in some kind of "serious" capacity, and that it's less enjoyable when blatant cheating in 12mans/scrims is such a common thing. The only way to curb that is to make it so there are consequences for doing so (however poorly enforced).

As far as ex-players coming on here and talking shit and starting e-fights?

I'm all for it. That's what 1911 is for. Wish you'd all stop being such pussies about it.

I disagree. Most 12mans and scrims in the last 4-5 months have been pretty clean in my opinion, especially when they have been played in the MVPz or Winnfield server with HLTV recording. I'm not saying that there hasn't been a case of someone cheating, but I believe you are grossly overestimating the amount of those that do cheat.

That's only because you can get caught now that they changed the rules, and the likely hood of that happening in MVPz or Winnfield is much much higher than other places. I agree with you that it's been a generally enjoyable and cheat free time in those two servers in the short time that I've been playing again, but not so much in others.

And like I said, I'm one of those who really doesn't care if people cheat in 12mans, but it is annoying if you are actually trying to ktp.

Just because the game is not as active as it once used to be, that shouldn't be a reason to not ban people for cheating. If you're cheating, you should be banned. It's not fun to play against. It's a giant waste of time for people who still play this game for fun.

I was in a 12 man yesterday and someone said anyone who's played the game for any amount of time has cheated at DoD. Well, there are a lot of us I'm sure that just haven't done it. The reason? I don't like being cheated against and wouldn't do the same thing to someone else. It's just fucking retarded to do it. If you're not good enough to do well legit, go play something else. I'm not even remotely good anymore, but I'm never going to put a wall hack or aim bot or anything like that on my system.

My 4 dig would be worthless then!

I'm not defending cheating. I don't think it is right either. It is shitty. However, there are sometimes when you have to be realistic. Just take the demos in stride, and when you're pretty sure they're cheating in a match - ban hammer them. They don't get the benefit of the doubt.

It isn't a toleration of cheating in matches, and you can still poopoo cheating outside of it. I think, and it is strictly an opinion, TPG is better of just using the demos as evidence at a later date.

mg, there is way more amount of time spent in this community in scrims (actually way more in 12mans) than anything else. matches have always been the least amount of time spent, but, as opposed to the past, matches have pretty much lost their importance in dod.

so people who are still playing (or who have come back to play) are playing because of the community and to have fun. considering the majority of the time spent with this game is in 12mans (and occasional scrims) it would be nice to have fun playing without cheaters (whether its against them or with them). that is why they are banning people for cheating in 12mans and scrims since thats the majority of dod at this point.

against south americans however....well you can ask alex

Anyways, I still stand by my notion of "If you are cheating at DoD you're terrible. It's an easy game, I mean really easy. Footsteps and sounds are clear, little background noise, "stopsound" command, people are pretty easy to see, walling is semi realistic. Guns are all balanced. You can change anything to your liking.

If you run across someone cheating in scrims and pugs, why don't you suffer through it and just never play with them again? When I still actually played this game, I wouldn't scrim Super, because they're full of fagots and child molesters. It's not hard for the DoD community to shun someone into vanishing. We've done it on plenty occasions.
