I am not sure if you weight lift or not ceebz, but once you get started and see good results, it can become quite addicting. I am assuming most started out lifting, won a few minor contests, realized they could make a viable living pumping weights, then transformed into giant mongoloids.

Re: Mr. Olympia this weekend
Despite my extreme interest in nutrition/physiology and all that, I have zero interest in IFBB. Mostly due to their kind of steroid use.
I don't know if people realize how much IFBB pros spend on steroids, but around $10,000 per month is a pretty good starting guess. Kind of kills it for me. It's a contest of who can come up with the best concoction to stimulate extremely unnatural hypertrophy.

Re: Mr. Olympia this weekend
I think you look at this in the wrong way Alex. I understand that a lot of the way they look has to do with steroids but really what I think you need to focus on is the training and the transitions they go through from the off season to the competition. The competition is just to see whos off season and conditioning was the best.

Re: Mr. Olympia this weekend
It's kind of an understatement to say, "a lot of the way they look..." - human men of 'average' height are capable of maybe 190 pounds lean body mass before their body stops protein synthesis for hypertrophy. These guys probably have 280 pounds of lean mass MINIMUM when in competition form. That's 90 pounds of artificially-induced muscle growth. It's just kind of...meh. To me. Just an opinion!seanality wrote:I think you look at this in the wrong way Alex. Are you hitting your legs brah? Don't be one of those bros that works upper body 3x per week and neglects legs, or doesn't hit them enough, at least.

Re: Mr. Olympia this weekend
That picture is too funny, an individual's body looks so awkward without at least some leg muscle. The only downside to working legs is how many pairs of jeans I have gone through. It is hard to find jeans that actually fit right with bigger thighs and a thinner waist... If that doesn't sound too homosexual.Sears wrote:

Do you still lift, Eric? I forget. What form do/did you use for squats? I've been doing more low bar squats, which makes my form look somewhat unorthodox, but it helps with hip thrust and driving through the heels. I like it more. But I wanted to see what you did, since you were able to max out with 225 pounds on the smith machine doing box squats once.Sears wrote:

Thankfully I don't have this problem and I hope I never do. I always wondered about this, though. I wouldn't want to be forced to solely wearing super baggy jeans -_-ao_ wrote:That picture is too funny, an individual's body looks so awkward without at least some leg muscle. Re: Mr. Olympia this weekend
I do still lift, but I'm not training as much as usual since I'm traveling so much for work. I like high bar squats, but I have much shorter legs than my upper-torso so they suit me as far as being able to get a full extension, where as others will have a much easier time with low bar squats. Low bar squats are actually trending in olympic lifting training right now because they stave off injury better. They are a lot easier on your back geometrically, and will allow you to do a bit more weight, so I actually recommend them to non-olympic class athletes that are taking up lifting.alex kirk wrote:Do you still lift, Eric? Duality has lived the "Disregard Women, Acquire Aesthetics, Man the Harpoons" lifestyle since he was a sperm. He is nothing short of a champion. He does dick push ups to failure, He has supplement nutrition facts taped to the inside of his stunna shades, he listens to Mens Fitness on audio book on his way to the gym and his workout playlist when he goes to sleep at night, he has a statue in a small village in South America, he sleeps in the sit up position, he doesnt feel pain because there is no more weakness left to leave his body, he takes so many vitamins his piss is neon excellence, and he reads his lifting progress while he shits protein bars.Sears wrote:sevEN wrote:Awesome pics. Re: Mr. Olympia this weekend
Your eyes are too far apart. Nose is definitely crooked. The shape of your face is not aesthetically pleasing at all. You look like a 3/10 with make up in this photo. I don't even want to imagine what you look like without make up. I actually just threw up in my mouth, just thinking about it.seanality wrote:
Your head is too big (although that may be, because of your giraffe neck posture). As for your hair, lol. Seriously, do something. You look like a horse.
Stare at your face for more than 5 seconds, and you will see how ugly you are. The eyes which are too far apart is what ruins/damages an already ugly face even further. Unfortunately for you, that can't be surgically fixed, lol.
You arms are way too long. lol at how they hang by your sides. Kind of reminds me of lurch. As for your tits, we all know there is extra padding there. Don't even let me start on your pale complexion. It only works if you look hot. Unfortunately, you do not look hot. Its hard to sum up a creature like you in one word. 'UGLY' would be unfair, since it doesn't reflect how repulsive you look. GROTESQUE is stretching it. But somewhere in between, is where you would be, on the scale of an average man.

Smith Machine's can serve a good purpose, just not for squatting. I am still amazed how many people don't work their legs. At the gym I work out at, I am one of maybe two or three that I have seen ever working their legs. Every person I talk to exclaims that working legs hurts too much... I guess the plus side of this is I never have to wait to use the squat rack or the hack squat machine.

I hate Smith machines. They can serve a good purpose in terms of safety, but no matter how you spin it, they eliminate the need for balance that free weights provide. That along with operating via cables which makes it easier to cheat.ao_ wrote:Smith Machine's can serve a good purpose, just not for squatting. Lol @ skipping leg day due to it hurting too much. If leg day isn't your hardest day, then you're not doing it right. I don't know anyone who thinks working upper body is harder than lower body. What a bunch of fckn babies.
