my two cents

well executed movie overall very nicely done

over used a lot of effects

had multiple shots that were clearly either fake shots like dustin young does or he was blatantly cheating in

songs have been used

reiterating the fact that the same shaky screen + distorted sound effect thing got used about 30 times in a 5 minute movie

and the 3D stuff that was done was cool but extremely cheesy and completely unnecessary for a dod movie anymore.

overall one of the better dod movies that's been made but it would work waaaay better as a cs movie where all those dorks prefer the crazy over editing rather than a clean movie with good frags and syncing. not my cup of tea but i definitely appreciate the work that had to be done for this to turn out the way that it did so, kudos to him

Who cares if the effects were over used? They were used well.

Yeah he was obviously cheating, or setting shots up. But I haven't seen a movie that kept my attention that well for a long long time.

this movie is just plain annoying me now. you have all caught european dod movie syndrome and its painful to see. if those frags were in a movie that was just clean, good editing, everyone on this forum wouldve been talking shit about how interpy, laggy, slow, awful, blatant, etc all of the clips were but because the guy took a billion years to export shit into a 3d editing program this suddenly becomes some sort of god sent movie hahaha

Think it might just be a matter of opinion here. I sometimes prefer DoD movies with lots of interesting effects. Sure, it's not making his frags any better, but it's entertaining. I also enjoy movies with more subtle editing, but really, if I wanted to watch a 20 minute compendium of frags I'd just load up a demo. Sometimes a little spice is necessary.

Just my 2 cents on that subject, wasn't actually all that into this movie.

i think joel is just trying to make another person in our small community feel welcome. you know, rather than critiquing his video to some unknown standard.

the fact is we don't know much about the player. past teams, time played, etc. the shots seem real to me, they may be staged, however given the effort put into creating the movie i would think he chose his best clips over years of playing. i enjoyed the fact that the movie was short. i get bored of player or team movies like this very quickly and seldom watch them, this one held my interest for most of the movie(skipped beginning and end lol). very creative.

From a movie makeing stand point, just thinking about all of the editing that had to be done for this picture is mind numbing.

Effects over used, but very very fucking cool. Kills were (meh), and shaky screen much?

alright, here is how you can tell it's staged.

1. you only ever see 1 other teammate in his clips.
2. nobody else dies in any single clip except the people he kills, top right corner.

I liked the effects most of the time. Though the whole movie seemed to be playing in fast forward. Did not like that bit. A lot of the shots did seem staged, but people have made the same shots before, so who knows.

I dont know what your problem is with it jaggon. it may not be your cup of tea.. but at least give it some respect.

i personally like easy to watch frag movies.. imo md's movie was the best as far as editing and ease to watch the frags. I doubt that was what the editor of this movie wanted. for a special effect dod frag movie i thought this was pretty awesome.. alot better than some of the cs ones that are considered great.

anyways great transitions.. i liked it. id like to see all those frags in a normal frag movie
