TPG attempted to do an all euro tournament lead by kaiiser some time ago but due to this very inept admin it died shortly after week 1. And thats was when DoD was buried deep in euro lands by the time StarCraft 2 was released. But since there is some good activity (weekly nightcups on both UMGL and EnemyDown.UK and leagues being played) perhaps we could work on maybe mixing some of the interested USA teams with them into a separated division (the so called Worlwide) in to TPG's website unbrella. So it wouldn't interfere with the regular divisions at all. Euros usually play on sundays with CET time as default (6h ahead from EST) which means that the games would be on weekends only so no big deal for average people. Given that me and other good USA/SA players played some tournaments and scrims against them I think it would be fun since they are willing to play that much. About server issue average USA players ping like 110-130 in a shitty german server and like 80-90 on a good UK server but since its a international league server change between halves would fit perfectly since people from a frozen scandinavian country that have stellar broadband connection can ping 80 on a east cost USA server LOLWUT!
So what say you? ESL project is pretty much dead and since several teams cried/bitched/died during season 26 perhaps this can bring some competitiveness to this old but fun game (alright perhaps its not so fun ingame but the recent rages and threads on this very forum made me rofl a few times ). There are some euro guys interested on trying this out (one of them is actually UMGL's head admin).
I guess friday evenings and saturday evenings should work best, because many people that play dod don´t work on the weekend and thats when the time zones doesnt really matter. TPG is on sundays and It will be 2-5am CET, so it would be good if it doesnt get to late for europeans or to early for north and south americans.
How about to use both euro and USA servers in the league, The matches should be playing on the home teams server ?

Why keep it separate from our normal TPG? If you let the euros in, you can finally make invite actually be invite. Thunder, Drugs, +1 NA super group, Owned, +1 SA team, 3 best euro teams.
Integrating it with the TPG have now will have a nice trickle down effect on everyone else, and help keep the community alive. Teams like noLuck or squares whined or died their way out of invite, because before this season it has been pretty much a foregone conclusion that whatever version of Thunder is going to win.(yes drugs, you are giving them a run this season, we know.) It would pretty much make doing divisions a lot easier, because there is a huge skill/teamwork cap from Thunder and drugs to everyone else and within everyone else there isn't that huge gap, until you get to the pub clans.

Would USA teams accept on playing their regular matches on sundays 4 pm instead of 9 pm? Did you forgot about the timezones? as for euros yeah I cant really asnwer for them but at least I feel that its not attractive playing 3 am of the morning either. Not to mention that not everyone would like this idea (haters/trollers mainly) so since TPG is going to a two divisions again due to community bitchin' and south americans idiots that can't stick with rules yeah thats the most likely scenario.

I like Austins idea, but I also like the idea of playing Europeans in a league. I'm east coast so I don't mind 100-140 ping in European servers but I'm sure a lot of west coast people won't like 200 ping. How about both?
Its not even like every match would be at 4pm. You'd be playing against whatever other NA and SAs join too. Thats why i think we should just let a few teams in the TPG divisions that we already play in now and you can talk it out with the euros on whats the latest their time they can play, etc.
for the record, this is not the first year thunder has lost theres still plenty of competition in tpg, the teams just need to work themselves out.
i think bringing the euros in would be a great idea, as well, and sunday afternoons should work. i cant imagine sunday afternoons being any different than sunday nights. and for west coasters playing with 200 ping, if i start again ill be at 300 (mr coffee style) so you cant get much worse than me. (oh and couple that with the fact that as of now i would be playing with a touchpad.)
i agree that some kind of small tournament to kick everything off would be great. maybe the 3v3 first, then a seeded tournament?
tpg 3v3 tournament is of no importance shut up jared. do that 4 team tournament. 4 teams, best of 3 maps single elimination tournament like the CS BEST OF 4 MSI BEAT IT tourney last year. would have to be a best of 3 map situation because it's only 4 teams, so thatd be at maximum a full day of dod, but im guessing all of those wouldnt end up going a full 3 maps. but yeah, thatd be awesome to have that work out. it's something new to do and pretty much everything else in dod is boring and stupid now (especially anything involving dod_orange, honestly how do you guys enjoy playing 1v1 or 3v3 in this dead god awful game anymore?! lol, i digress) so someone work on setting that up, ill help out and i know our team would happily participate (idk about bryan though, i dont even know if hes playing dod anymore unfortunately because gaul is an ugly dork and still thinks hes going to accomplish something huge in counter strike invite and on lan, even after playing for 8 years and never accomplishing anything outside of cevo amateur, but yeah live up that pipe dream andrew, live it up, thanks for being a faggot and turning a bunch of friends into a bunch of enemies, fucking lying shady ass nerdy moron.)

whoah... guess this thread will end going to somewhere different than its purpose but as a friendly reminder the idea was rebuild a euro division for them but this time with the addition of the INTERESTED teams that CAN play on sundays afternoon... While I find interesting doing a USA x Canada x Brazil x Euro tournament I don't quite find this this too interesting to the whole community but rather for a few - the main objective of this is for players that actually like to play DoD instead of Counter-Strike or other games. I'm gonna further discuss this with and the Regions Cup thing with the other admins.
For people who want to play the game and have fun, the euro idea, as well as 1v1 / 3v3 tournaments, are all good ideas.
For people who want to try and prove they are the best at this game, try and have that USA/Canada/Whatever tournament. But good luck making the teams without people losing their shit over how they deserve a spot over somebody else.

Well I feel a 3v3 tournament would be just as fun if not more fun than doing this "world" thing... Isn't the EURO scene far worse than ours? There's only about 8 good canadian players I can think of... And the SA community is down to like 1 team in TPG...

i dont know anyone in the community aside from a few who hang out in the ghad vent, but the nostaglia kills me. all this remember when shit doesnt mean anything, the team i play on plays to have fun together in a game that doesnt take too much computer requirement and is really easy to sit down an hop into a game and manage opposed to a game like battlefield. you may as well have a tourny where everyone can play and build the community on that. if it was about being the best player/team this game would have made ESL with no problems but the fact is no one cares they just wanna show up on match day and laugh at how bad they are now, and from time to time accuse someone of hacking.

names kalle carlund or better known as blank, playing for fnaps. we are one of the two top euro teams still around. the idea of a worldwide tpg division would be interesting certainly and the server issue wouldnt be a problem imo. last time we played owned/thunder in the umgl nightcup finals it all went smooth except for the admins mapchoice which was horrible. time difference would be something to talk bout since most europeans dont like to play after 22cet, ppl left playing here are pretty old. btw. i all invite you to join the ed nightcups cass mentioned, they run pretty smooth for years with good administration other than umgl which just went down for no apparent reason.
theres fnaps, german allstar team and w6, mostly a scandinavian mix consisting players like an1mal, stin or jizz left. most the other teams are heavily banked by cheaters or noobs.

exactly jared but I didnt thought that a "worldwide" would be released any time soon at least season 26 ends... and for further clarification, you may like or hate, but these little 1v1, 3v3, orange 3v3 are originally meant to KEEP people interested in the game rather than just prove that X > Y, etc. While some complain that playing one match a week is too much I feel that several people would play more DoD if there were more DoD available. I'm down for whatever is good to the community, whether a fast paced 1v1 tourny or a free-for-all deatmatch for 3v3. We can discuss all of this later if you want to.

haha oh yeah andrew definitely, we didn't scrim as a team for 4 days after that text or anything, and you've definitely only ever done this one time before. most hilarious part being u sitting in vent telling us "oh nooo we arent leaving we arent doing that thats so stupid we hate playing with blizzard dat keeds like soooo000ooo annoyingz to plai with doodz we def wouldnt do that to u guys again nope" next day u just disappear and never even have the decency for any of u to say a word to me or ryan at all which is the fuckin stupidest part of it all.
I played with/against a few euros back in the day and always enjoyed it. The only problem is when west coasters and eastern euros start getting involved. Makes for baby jesus crying conditions. In that case I think having a NE and UK server on hand for matches would be really helpful for balancing out lag disputes.
i also work until 5 normally on sundays, but would love to play vs euros. Sounds like a grand ole time, plus that means more teams, and keeping the game alive is what it's about.
