imo, we need to set a time for when each match needs to be played. leaving it up to the two captains to then make sure that all their teammates get the information is not doable in 3 days. thoughts?

I think it needs to be done as a single weekend, i.e. play a few of the matches on Saturday and then finish up on Sunday, or at maximum have it last 2 weeks. There's no point in having a single match played in a night where most of the players/teams are on for a few hours at least. I just feel that there would be a lot more success to these if we had them finished up in a single weekend/2 weekends at most.

If you really wanted to play you would make yourself available, or just not participate in that one. Really not that difficult.

The purpose of having a weekend tourney is to play more matches throughout the day. During the week it'll be harder for people to play several matches because of school/jobs.

Do a Saturday or Sunday tourney, starting at like 2est. Have everyone who can play matches throughout the day show up, have captains selected, let them draft their team, and then start doing the matches. Those who show up should know whether they can commit to the majority of the day or not. Have a match scheduled each hour, and have a "lunch break" scheduled for an hour sometime between the upper bracket matches.

Any player who decides to create an "excuse" of why they can't continue to play when they don't like their team or feel they don't have a winning chance can be considered ineligible for the next draft tourney.

You should definetely have all the matchs played on a sunday/saturday. Instead of spread out over a couple of weeks.

the purpose of the tourney was for players to be able to play dod while we are in between tpg seasons.. not to have it in 2 days.. and if you want it done in 2 weeks fine we will just eliminate double elimination.. there is no possible way to 'please' everyone.. and once again you have 10 ppl to a team and cant muster 6 people to show up for a match.. same as last draft..

I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that nobody wants to use their own backups and the fact that there's no default time to play. Seeing as how just about every single match has been pushed back at least one day, you could see why there would be scheduling problems and why people would have a hard time getting their teams on at the last minute.

Edit.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see this actually last a month between TPG seasons, but with the way people are so wishy washy about what teams they're on and if they're actually winning or not, the best format would just be a weekend thing.

Yeah I wasn't trying to limit it to just this season of the year, but for the followings months as well. It more than likely wouldn't have worked during football season, you're probably right about that.

I don't understand why there has to be a month in between seasons. It's not like there is any changing of the league, is there? And if the whole point is to give time for people to play dod, just make a short (1-2 week tournament) and then start the next season.
