It was fun to play , ill be honest, but without having your friends to play with it got boring fast. Its like a beta is, a work in progress. I don't know how it'll pan out or what exactly they will fix.

I do like that it's a true test-level beta, and not a more finished "promotional" beta like we are used to seeing these days.

Valve is one of the few who actually cater to PC gamers and a test level beta shows that they are actually committed to putting out a game that works over a flashy game that's broken like most PC games released are now. (see any COD MW2 or on)

have you played source? cs 1.6 in its prime, or dod in its prime? valve hasnt given a fuck about gamers outside of the pub community since hl1 was released.

just because valve made games with better graphics their top priority doesn't mean that they don't give a fuck about pc gamers lol... cs and dod are just old and don't attract new people as much as newer games do. they're running a business.

i.e. portal 2, dota 2, l4d2

I didn't say they were catering to competitive PC gamers. I said PC in general.

so it might actually come out decent?

sorry if i seem to be ignoring your opinions alopex, but i dont know you and i do know scorch was(is still?) decent at CS.

and no, what i was referencing in regards to CS and DoD was valves seemingly innate ability to fuck up the game. they excelled at it back in 02-05. from messing with the xhairs, to essentially disabling thousands of people from playing a game by "fixing" an issue for a week before they "fixed" it again. funny how people seem to forget that shit now that valve hasnt touched any of these games in a few years.

oh, and the lovely major client updates the day of major tournaments starting, regardless of months of advance warning to valve and multiple requests that they delay it. the best part is when valve acted like they would, then said fuck you, and released it regardless.

It's a long way from being a complete game, and they don't have west coast test servers, I guess, but it feels like they actually want to make a good game. The guns that are in so far feel about balanced. TBH though I'm still playing mw3 instead of the go beta.

yea Valve took a risk in the past and made changes to games while assuming those changes would "improve" the game. But I have never seen a company reach out to it's competitive community the way Valve has for CS:GO. Which to me is promising. I haven't played the game yet but the effort they are putting in to include the competitive community, is a positive sign. As long as Valve uses the advice they receive to make the proper changes....CS:GO has the potential to be a real success.

I haven't been hopeful for an fps game in years. Fingers crossed that CS:GO doesn't disappoint.
