FPS Drops
I've been browsing other message boards etc. trying to find a solution to my recent problem.
If you play League of Legends, I've been reading that there was an update that really effected the overall performance of other games (something to do with Adobe AIR?) resulting in FPS drops anywhere from 5-30fps periodically.
I just reformatted and was still having the problem, I also thought it was one of the files I downloaded from a pub server so I made my game completely stock and was still having the same issue. Once I uninstalled League of Legends I haven't had the same problem.
Not sure if this will be useful to anybody but figured I'd post.

Re: FPS Drops
Is it a constant, lower fps than usual, or do you play for awhile with high fps then it crashes at some point?
Because when I play LoL it'll run steady at high fps for quite a long time then, seemingly at random, the fps will crash to like 03-05 and stay there until I reboot my computer.

Re: FPS Drops
Once you completely close out any program related to LoL i dont see why it should effect dod. I have LoL installed and i play dod with the LoL client running no issue.

Don't let anything coded by Adobe on your computer, that's my advice.

I have a shit load of adobe stuff on my computer. Everything always has been running fine for me! I know they used to have problems and still may have some, but if you got good firewalls and antivirus and know what settings to block you will be fine with adobe software.

Re: FPS Drops
I've never had problems with Adobe. The best thing you could probably do is make sure all your Adobe programs are up to date along with video card drivers. If this doesn't fix your issue, make sure nothing is overheating while you are playing games.scorch- wrote:Don't let anything coded by Adobe on your computer, that's my advice.

Re: FPS Drops
Adobe is not good at what they do with their standard free stuff (reader, flash, etc). No comment on their professional products, as I've never had to support them.

Re: FPS Drops
Okay Adobe aside, because I have absolutely no products with affiliation to that brand, I am still getting FPS drops again. Every time a grenade blows up it'll range anywhere from 5-30 fps. When the grenade is gone it jumps back up to max FPS. It's beginning to become tedious trying to find a solution -_-. Any other ideas?

Re: FPS Drops
You could try rolling back your video card drivers. I believe some of the newer drivers have issues with openGL games.

I use something from the high 9's to low 10's. With all of the newer versions, the control center wouldn't open for me.
