I approve! Still don't like the map. It's boring to me for some reason.

I agree with Rivas... long is lame
Re: labeled emmanuel
Shitty map is really shitty. Like really.really.really.really shitty.

Emmanuel does need a proper (better) overview for the minimap.
This doesn't quite line up; it's 2 screenshots from spec cobbled together (I use it as my minimap).

Re: labeled emmanuel
the fact that this version of this map is being used in a regular season week is complete farce. it's HORRENDOUS. I hate solitude and I'd still 100% prefer that to emmanuel. idk what the fuck happened when the map got changed but the first two versions were at least playable. this is just gross.

I like the map.
Re: labeled emmanuel
I agree with Jaggon! The earlyer version's are way better than this one! Still prefer emmanuel_b2 over this final version! Solitude instead of this could be a great change!

Re: labeled emmanuel
My confusion was bad enough after realizing I have to play merderet in a match, then this map came along... I've been questioning whether or not this is reality every since.
Wouldn't it be a better idea to just have an active player poll of all the past TPG and CAL maps; whereby each player chooses their top 10 favorite maps? The 8 most popular make it into regular season and the other 2 are preseason.
The "vote" for merderet between a bunch of other nonsense maps baffled me. And I don't recall seeing a vote for this map, however if there was such a vote I can only imagine the other choices given.

I like the new version a lot. Scrimmed it a few times and it seemed pretty fast paced.

Yo dawg, I heard you like Harrington. So we took Harrington, chopped it up into little pieces, put it in a blender, pissed in it, shot a rainbow of diarrhea over the empty blender cup (just so that enough poop particles could land in), hit "Liquify" on that shit, poured it into a condom, threw it in the freezer, and this is what came out. dod_emmanuel

Your overview is fucked though. 1st flag isn't in mid connector.

Re: labeled emmanuel
It takes a lot of time to make maps so please don't bash lerf for trying to make everyone happy and including a lot of peoples suggestions.
Unfortunately, that being said, I think this version of the map shouldn't be considered the best version out there.

Re: labeled emmanuel
i respectfully disagree ace, i've been testing and playing all emmanuel versions throughout lerf's work and this last one is the best so far. the map needs to be played more otherwise it'll quickly became an good yet hated map like aleutian, muhle or solitude.

but none of those maps are good...

Re: labeled emmanuel
I haven't got the chance to play this version, but I did like the previous versions. I think its a nice break from the same old map grind. Although this classic league will break that monotony.
Re: labeled emmanuel
i unfortunately can't make everyone happy. I remember this same sort of discussion when Lennon was released. The discussion about whether the map is good or not. With lennon most people disliked it in the beginning(many still do
), a couple seasons in the rotation and most found the map enjoyable and fun to play. The DoD community has really only welcomed 3 custom maps to be played at high levels. So it doesn't bother me if this map doesn't cut it. Though I think some time playing the map, considering it was released a couple months ago, is needed. The map is unique in terms of it's setup and that is intentional. It's obviously, in terms of overall layout comparable to Harrington. However, the map won't play and shouldn't be played like harry. I think this map will be best in matches with organized teams that have good teamwork.

Re: labeled emmanuel
donner 2 actually excites me. lennon is still a cluster fuck in halls which makes most people dislike it. everything about the map revolves around the halls, but they suck dick to deal with.
the lack of teamwork for 90% of the teams in dod right now also effects how maps are accepted too. its why people dont like playing donner even though its one of the most balanced maps played. with 2 teams that have good teamwork, donner has some of the best matches played.

Re: labeled emmanuel
I think the teamwork remark is spot on. There's a lot of opportunities to flank your opponents, and if your team doesn't make calls you'll get fucked up. It's a very fast map in all the scrims I've played. There's also a lot of good setups on mountain, which is fun. That might just be me and Matt being the best strategic minds in the game ever though.

NO
I think the map is better than half of the other ones we play.

I understand that pov on the the map, but where I come from is the fact that it doesn't seemed finished or polished to a T. there are missing textures and random sky box holes that only dgf would know about. Some of the angles are confusing, awkward, but mostly unfair.
Re: labeled emmanuel
Lerfooled "me/we" are not bashing or saying that you work it isn't great! No, it's truly a great work imo and i valorize people like you always poping up new maps and new stuff to get 1.3 players unbored! I really appreciate your good work!
But, imo i still prefer dod_emmanuel_b2 over this last version, not saying that this version is bad or shit...like i think aleutian and solitude are good maps.
Hope you to still do this work in future and give us a whole new enjoyment to the game!
Thank you for all Lerfooled!

Teamwork? Donner? That shit is all about jewing around the tank's shitty clipping and getting a lucky ninja cap when carlos forgets to check behind swingdoor.

Re: labeled emmanuel
tl;dr: I think the current community has a warped view of what constitutes a "good" map
This map isn't the worst map we've seen. Lennon, Solitude, and Muhle are all MUCH worse maps than this. This at least has some sense of balance to it with decent spacing that makes the map suitable for competitive play. Unfortunately, two major aspects of the map also make competitive play on it very frustrating. The map is simply too small and there is way too much stalemate caused because of seemingly instant respawns due to the map's size. Also, middle has no real spots for an allies player to hold and protect the double cap, making it difficult for an allied sniper to figure out what to do on the map. The middle connector from long is kind of cool, but the ladder connecting the other side to middle is a pretty bad idea. I think the mapmaker got a little too caught up in trying to make this map so much like harrington, rather than improving on an established competitive map, which has similar flaws to emmanuel.
But, sadly it seems dod players would rather play an unbalanced map where you can run up your frag count into the high 30s and 40s rather than play a very balanced map where a good fragging half is anything over 25. I think any new maps should be made with something more like donner, chemille, or merderet in mind. RR2 (and RR1, to a lesser extent) and anzio are also examples of good maps that are (fairly) balanced where some fragging numbers can be run up pretty high too.

I agree 100% with scott. I also think emmanuel can be a better map. It has a lot of potential, but just needs to be tweeked a bit.
