Day of Defeat still fun? ARTICLE
I was surfing the world wide web and found this article, thought it was worth bringing to 1911. Seems that we are still talked about?

I don't think I've seen the word n00b typed in at least 8 years. Quality writing.
Re: Day of Defeat still fun? ARTICLE
Disclaimer: this is very ranty, and i dont quite know what my point was, but whatever.
It wasn't until i got to the bottom and saw it had a number grade that i realized he was writing a review. I literally thought it was just someone writing some random shit on a website. I mean he says the game is 11 years old, and yet being someone who considers themselves knowledgeable enough to review video games on an actual site says "is this too old?" Mother fucker, we get a new CoD every year, and BF/MoH come out on a rotating schedule of every other year now. In today's time, a year is too old to the average consumer, let alone 11 years. The fact that some people still play dod, albeit a small amount, is just a testament to the fact that most of the players here, grew up in an environment where games had longer shelf lives and were not placeholders until the inevitable sequel. In some ways, free to play games like Tribes have the best shot at producing the next legit competitive communities because when they chose to update the engine, people just need to re-download it, and not purchase an entirely new game. There's no disruption in service, or reset button. CS:Go will probably have it's usual crowd, shootmania because of its simpleness and relatively cheap cost should maintain some kind of following. Games like BF3, didn't even carry over the competition that BF2 created. A clan i played for in AQ2 and had a team for in dod, 20ID, were huge in BF2 and they played BF3 for all of 2-3 months or so before quitting and they played BF2 for over a year (having played over 180 matches). Even that time period is small compared to how long they played q3F and aq2, which was 2 years at a time each. Really, it just shows the relatively short lifespans games have these days. Casual gamers are the target audience these days, hardcore gamers don't make companies shit for money.
So yah, dod is old and dead but not just for the reasons he said, but because games are made for the average consumer. Which means more mw2 and mw3 and black ops, and bf3 getting shoved down everyone's throats.
Also, who the fuck joins a server and spends their time dying to bazookas and snipers, fucking dickweed.
