No it hasn't. Well it's not very active. And since we joined TPG now, we thought it would be a better idea to bring all together.

Some of us have problems with mumble, so we stay in ts3 instead :)

Hope we can see more activity on upcoming weeks and games played. Todays game was fun(?) despite it being in the quite awful map sherman. RQ showed that we are terrible in that map and very rusty.

For me, TS3 is a mix between vent and mumble. Havent used mumble for awhile now but i remember it being a big hazard setting up, so a lot of people just stayed with vent. Try it out.

I believe only two Americans can play in matches at a time, but you can have more than two on the roster. It sounds like a good rule to me, since it is the European division.

Like stabil says. This is the case. Also, yes you can have as many americans on your roster as you want. As long as its a maximum of 2 americans playing ingame.
I'll explain why.
We were invited before by americans to join your leagues. And you've had some euro guys here and there. But no teams have really been interested unless they are from england, where they can still have ok ping, or from spain where they are already used to play with 100 in ping to northern european servers. But what would make the euro division special from any of the american divisions if we would let you in? Why have the euro league in the first place if we are gonna fill it with 50% americans? Sure we get to play on european servers.. But I'd rather be the guy with the lag shooting at lowpingers than the other way around.

I'm still in chock we have had this big respons from our small scene. Almost all teams have asked me when i try to convince them to apply for our own league on TPG, "Will we be playing vs americans?".. And I say no of course cause that wasent my intentions when I brought this to the table atleast. And when I said no, they were in. We cant risk taking in too many americans, cause we might loose some teams cause of it. And we have nothing else than this to return to if it fails.
We seem to be less tolerant over here when it comes to high ping than you guys. The game isnt just as fun when you cant hit anyone. And thats the reason for not wanting to get too many americans. I could have just written that.. Oh well.
This is all we got, you got freaking 4 divisions. We just wanted a new community that cared for DoD. That still makes articles for an example. I dont think anyone have written an article within the DoD community in Europe since like 2008.

Don't get me wrong, we would love to face some new teams. Cause it gets boring after have played the same 10 teams for like 5years.
We might be doing some nightcups in a near future. If that goes well, we could maybe have a 16 teams cup with 50/50 eu and na teams. The possibilities are endless, or?

Hope our arguments makes sense.

No worries Calli. The last 3 matches I've played in have been SA teams where the average ping is over 225ms. It was just how the autoscheduler worked out. It does get frustrating at times, but personally I'm glad to see how active this community is with a game that is so old. I can understand the differences in opinions, they're just part of it.

I'd like to give MOB a big thumbs up from our last match. Everyone was classy and it was definitely a fun one to play. Blas, that bunny hopping headshot was amazing. I should give the cut to K4boom so that he can make yet another clip of me getting owned!

that would be also the case for most east coast guys to UK, Sweden, France, Netherlands and German server probably, i dont see the difference in allowing spanish people to play with that ping but exclude (east coast) american players, wether or not then you shoud generalize that rule to a certain ping value like no more then 2 players with a ping exceding pikes of 120ms or the team ping needs to be under 100.

for some people it's simply not possible to build up a mostly euro roster, for example me or linus who are playing like forever with and in the US leagues, i simply dont know enough european people to create a team (i think there are like 4-6 people which come to mind and there are personal issues which would never let this team happen). besides that i would rather like to play with people i've been playing matches/scrims/12 mans with the last years, then to start searching people or hoping to find a team where i hardly know anybody and in the worst cases they are unwilling to speak english or being total dicks.

Pr0n is speaking the truth, I ping around 100 to eastcoast servers and I play from the northern parts of sweden.. But I don't make the rules.

I get where you are coming from since your team is a team that this matter concerns right now. But you need to look att this objectivly or from our view, which the league is for.
Some people from Spain ping 60, some ping 90. To say that all spanish people ping 100 was wrong of me. Ping is something that changes. Some days you can ping 60 to a server that you usually ping 35 to and you have no idea why. Probably some stations that are congested.
Let's say you have a team where one NA guy suddenly have 120 ping, when he usually have 95 to a certain european server and there's nothing he can do about it to change that. He is late for the game and there's no guy around to replace him. So we let him play this one time. Then people start harrassing me that I allowed a guy with 120 ping to play. And people with higher ping start claiming that they should be able to play as well. Where does it stop?
The other day our UK guy, DinG, pinged 110 or 120 to our server in Sweden. That is how different people can ping to a server, even though you are not that far away.
Switching server after one half is not relevant.
If you cant build up a roster with 4 euro players, do you feel that the euro division is where you should play?

While ping can differ, Spain is Spain and wont move any further away from the rest of Europe. We cant make such unclear or diffuse rules. If you were to generalize the ping of 10 players from Spain playing on a server in Germany and 10 NA players. You would probably find that the average ping for the spainards would be 20ms less then for the NA's.

This rule wont change, for now. If this goes well, we might consider making it 3, next season.

Euro's dont bite, you can always post on the zP forum or here, that you are looking for players for your team. There are players on my steam still looking for a team. Just put yourselfs out there, and I'm positive you will get answers.

If you still feel like you wanna discuss this, add me on steam.

I feel amused that there still people who thinks that playing with high ping (with legit rates obviously) is some sort of advantage. the other interesting thing is that i never saw anyone really good at this game complaining about hitting lagged fellas, be them south american or european. i mean, its your division and your league, you can do whatever you want as far as rules are concerned but using the "i don't have registry against laggy people" excuse is as retarded as having admins that ban people out of the nowhere. the funny thing is that the so called banned player have a euro/us team and he'll likely get to play against you guys :)

This league is TPG: Europe, not TPG: 3pm, or TPG: International. It was created solely to give the Europeans a place to play.

Of the 10 teams that signed up, about 6 of them are what we would consider "Open" teams. Letting you people just go roll them would do more harm than good for their scene. Sorry, it is what it is.

I don't think it's that, I think it's people want to be able to play against euros is all. It's kind of neat to think you can game against euro/SA in leagues in 2012 when in 2003 you couldn't even play east vs west.
