It's all just a matter of preference. I've had a Droid Incredible and an iPhone 4s as my last two phones and I don't have a complaint about either one. A friend just bought the Galaxy 3 and I really liked it but don't want a phone that big. I also rooted/jailbroke both phones which made them even better.
I'm interested in the iPhone 5 release with Samsung already intending to lay a heavy LTE patent lawsuit against Apple if the phone includes a LTE chip. LTE patents aren't necessarily FRAND yet.. so that could make for an interesting lawsuit.

That's actually pretty funny..wow. I actually was planning a few years back that the iPhone "5", if I ever got one, would be the first iPhone I'd buy just cause I knew it'd have 4G based on the roadmaps and apple's release cadence. But now Steve is gone and Cook is turning apple into a soulless corp machine, especially with all the patent trolling, I'm not too eager to make an Apple phone my first major smartphone purchase.
Plus Android is finally getting to be where I want it to be, less fragmented between devices. But it all might be for not as I feel like Windows 8 is going to kill it on tablets (but not desktops).
