TPG AC Finals

Post by cassinoroyale »

Hey guys, these are TPG Americup finals.

After 7 exciting weeks lets see now which team will prevail in this 1st Americas Cup tournament.

http://www.tpgleague.org/dodcup/

Finals: THUNDER vs dW
This will be a very good show. The currently top team on TPG upper vs the currently top team on TPG sa division and the map will be lennon_b2. Despite some mans from both teams aren't playing as they should I think this will be a very balanced match. I'm pretty sure one of the teams will start capturing by the first minutes and then will (sadly) try to hold as much as possible the score whereas the other team will wake up for the game and will make pressure and push towards the enemy lines. I also predict tons of tk's in this game, mainly in the apartments doors from both respawns.

cAss' pick: dW by half a cap.

Players to watch:
THUNDER: dorito, toxinatoR and chimpanzebra
dW: rodz, austin and SillyHand

Consolation 3rd place match: frequency vs dgf
The argentineans are improving their game a lot as they practice almost everyday. However they seems to be a bit irregular when they need to be solid. And solid is the better word to describe dgf: they're not amazing but in the other hand they are far away from being bad. I think this game will be balanced till the end but all of sudden Watch Your Back will run and spawnade 4 or 5 frequency guys and, in the nick of time, get the winning capture.

cAss' pick: dgf by 1 cap

Players to watch:
frequency: karl1, Pdx and Leooo
dgf: Watch Your Back, bullgoose and Mogers

I don't think there's anything wrong with predicting your team to win. Every pro athlete in the world predicts success for his/her respective team. He wasn't trashing anyone; he's just confident.

I think dW really shocked everyone by bitch slapping thunder in the harrington matchup. Hopefully thunder will have their best roster this time around. Not having ryanemo on heavy to control ladder really lost the match for them previously. Should be a really good game.

I kinda wish it didn't have to come down to lennon being the finals map. It was either going to be anzio, rr2, or lennon.. but rr2 was just played 2 weeks ago in the cup and anzio will likely be used as regular TPG 6v6 finals. I don't think any of the remaining teams(esp THUNDER lol) would pick to play it on lennon, but it seemed to be the best alternative.

I do look forward to some kick ass matchups though :) THUNDER vs dW will really be awesome. The top teams/talent from North and South America going head to head for a 2nd time. Should be good!

if it was my choice i'd select a recent map played over lennon in a heartbeat. lennon is NOT made to be a finals map.

yeah im with bryan on that, we would definitely rather play rr2 regardless of how recently we played it, or anzio regardless of it being the tpg finals map. hell, we'd even take harrington even though we're a complete disaster on that map. the prospect of lennon in a finals match is just bad bad bad, but it should be a good match regardless. and theres nothing wrong with predicting your own team to win haha i always thought it was funny how mad people got when someone did that.

@ kenzo im sure there will be an hltv, ill talk to eric about getting it posted on the front page or something the day of the match.

glhf dW. hopefully we have our main 6 this time around so it's not a blow out.

players to watch on lennon? well rodz is the best dod player in the history of the game apparently so ill take him on dW and austin's candian ass. and as for us, ryanemo, dorito, toxinator.

my prediction- THUNDER 269 - 269 dW then we head in to...OOOOOOOOOOOVERTIME. that's where heros are made and legends are born, or something like that from a versus commercial for playoff hockey. boom shaka laka

As US and SA teams are separated by divisions it was created to be a quick tournament between the top teams in each region. Unfortunately two SA teams left the tournament leaving it with only dW and frequency (former afteReality) on SA side. On the USA side the tournament begun with THUNDER, dgf, GSR and LcM (which as later replaced by FLATout). By that time, some Upper teams weren't created yet and others didn't want to parcipate.

Randy selected the US teams so you can blame him :p

TBH I also think that 1911 wasn't so active by the time we started the league (early April). I only knew about it in May! That's why we didn't posted anything about it in here. :(

Don't get me wrong, our team wouldn't play if we got invited to, but the fact that some teams haven't even heard about this makes it seem of equal bragging rights to that of a 3v3 championship team.

There is no question that THUNDER, dgf, and GSR belonged in it. When we were looking to replace LcM, I actually did want to get either 99 or FLATout. At the time there was a lot of things I really liked about FLATout that made me go with them: they were a good up and coming team, they were active, and they seemed dedicated to get better. There was some other criteria but those were what I noticed the most.

I think in the end it was the activity factor that made me go with FLATout. I love 99 ace, ask anyone around the community, I'm actually your team's biggest fan

Wasn't flatout 1-5 before the team died because you couldn't beat anybody in upper? Then you joined 1080p which is 4-3 in lower. Were those three losses from THUNDER, LcM, and risK? Oh, okay. and, you are possibly the worst player to ever play this game, just saying. See what I did there?!

And I just wanted to know what it was, doesn't really sound like something I would have wanted to play, and considering our current record I can see why we didn't.

However, in regards to the contents of this particular page, I think it warrants a mention that Flatout was the only team we could beat when we were barely getting 6 and I was on absolute garbage internet.

Well I will settle this...

unpro tried to be smart making fun of what I said which is fair and funny. I made that quote to disprove what unpro said because we have, in fact, beaten all three of those teams in tpg. We are 3-4 because we got ninja capped out to lose against LcM, and during all four losses we had joel getting 12-13 kills because of bad internet, and we had a back-up named blake wehman playing who had no practice. Our first win was against flatout with joel playing and lagging, so we beat you 5v6 or 5v5 if you had a bad player playing. since joels internet has been fixed we have beat wr 6v5, and dgf 6v6 both in convincing style. We have scored the most points in the "tpg-upper" division.

regardless of all of that, we still would not play in this cup and my first point, and what I think joel's point was, is that we haven't heard of this and I don't think the SA teams should be all up in arms if they cheat again to beat THUNDER(who is the best team in TPG hands down) and win the tournament.
