Before the results are announced does anyone want to share their opinion?
I am a big fan of mike trout and believe he energized an underperforming LA team. With Cabrera it is same old Cabrera who is not coveted as an all around player
I guess people can share their "baseball is dumb" opinion as well.

Watched the thing on ESPN about the new player stat called "WAR". Based on that, Trout should win, but how can you not give the MVP to a guy who won the triple crown and helped his team to the playoffs.acetamino wrote:Before the results are announced does anyone want to share their opinion?

How does a guy that wins the triple crown even get close to losing the mvp? In a stats-based game and one where numbers like home runs, runs and batting average are held up like gods how does the the first triple-crown since the 60s not get a unanimous vote?

It's the most broken stat in baseball, and for some reason it's considered the most important stat these days.
I agree, there shouldn't even be an argument. Cabrera deserved it. Trout slumped during the most important months of the season. Miggy has been playing in the league for nearly 10 fucking years, and pitchers still can't figure out a way to get past the guy. He played in nearly every game this season and was the true back bone for the team. Oh, and lets not forget that he can play 1st 3rd or outfield
it seems that everyone looks at stats and makes their decisions off that alone. I would have voted for Beltre before I voted for Trout simply because Beltre contributed more to the team both on and off the field, which, at least in my eyes, is what an MVP is supposed to do.
I think Trout is an excellent player, I honestly believe he will be the 5th player to join the 40/40 club (and with significantly less testosterone and more style than the other 4). Hell, if he stays healthy he could very well win the triple crown himself, and when he does that, he'll get his MVP title.
Don't really follow the NL poverty league, but I expected to see Molina(brb carrying the cards after pujols leaves) or McCutchen (brb carrying a notoriously awful team) win the MVP. But on the other hand I admittedly hate everything about the Giants, so I'd never pick Posey.
