Some Season 30 Information

If you give invite 8 teams, two will eventually die and then there is the same issue as last season. Although I think it's funny that every team that made playoffs got moved up, I actually agree with the placements. It's the most balanced I've seen the divisions in a while. Obviously certain teams are more likely to win, but I don't see any team that won't be able to win at least a few matches.

I think 3 divisions would be the best. Always a coupple of teams die in the middle of the season. Take for example NoGo, this last season had a few issues to get their 6. I saw a few topics here searching players to fill up their crew. Another example...debores7. They are cool guys, but dont have the lvl to play at main yet. We made more full caps against them (without our 6 starters, a coupple of roster back ups), that we could make it against PC or Callmemaby. One solution could be, take the best 8 + 2 to make invite. Then you have the rest of teams to lvl them up or low to main or lower division. One clearly problem here is to ensamble "Main". So cut the intermediate, the best of intermedia, old main teams and 1 o 2 that cant play on invite should be at main. Whats the point to have at least 3 teams, that probably gonna lose everything in main, when they could fight against each other to make a much more interesting lower division?. Thoose who never could move up from lower...are lost cases anyway.

If defiance haven't made it clear enough, the displayed divisions and teams within aren't FINAL and are subject of change. We are still thinking of the best format for next season the same way we tried to do over the past seasons.

its not that bad as is. what you did with oPen is great. those teams deserve to play together after a number of seasons of sand bagging. I'm sure there will be more new teams come week one.

That's the idea, what is the point to expose your thinking when the desition is final?

I think that a coupple of guys here, are not complaining, but trying to bring others points of view to the table.

That's exactly what I said my fellow ugly argentinean friend. By confirming that the move ups and downs aren't final, I'm ratifying that we are sorting out all possibilities and suggestions still rather than stating that our decision is final somehow

Kevin stole all the things I said to him earlier. What a dick. I like the big invite division. Gives a wide breadth of skill instead of past 8 team configurations leaving 1 or 2 bottom teams to get raped every week and lose interest in playing. Will also allow the lower teams in the division the opportunity to play against better teams and maybe get a little better, which will hopefully lead to a more competitive upper division in the long run.

As for my 2 cents on map list:

Week 1 dod_harrington
Week 2 dod_villa
Week 3 dod_railroad2_b2
Week 4 dod_emmanuel
Week 5 dod_anzio
Week 6 dod_chemille
Week 7 dod_lennon_b2
Week 8 dod_donner

Harry in week one because that's probably what people will be scrimming over the break anyways, and a lot of teams will probably be ill-fated pugs at that point anyways. I think villa would be great for week 2 because it brings a a fast-paced style similar to chemille, and because I think that map is a shit ton of fun to play (haven't played b2 yet though). Emmanuel can be subbed out for solitude maybe, don't know what the public reception on that map is, I just know heavying on it was fun. In the last half of regular season you have the probable finals map, as well as the 3 most well received maps outside of the playoff choices, which means the more stable teams will have to perform well on all the big names on their run into playoffs. And donner is just a great teamplay map for finalizing those seeds.

I think Defiance is doing a good job. I don't follow TPG really closely, but as far as I can tell, Defiance always seems to be on top of things.

I play with DGF too, and I don't see what all the hate is for. I think they're a good bunch of players; who I always enjoy playing with.

Pre-Season will be played on Sundays December 9th and 16th. The maps are dod_sturm and dod_villa_b2. Villa_b2 can be found by clicking on the map name, which will allow you to download all the files. Both configs for sturm and villa and in the "Server Configs" file found on the left hand side of the screen(tpg site jerks). Please update the tpgbasic.cfg as well.

The most annoying thing about dod_sturm last time it was tried in a league was in the river house there is a maze of stairways and rooms to get down to the river. That was overdone. There also isn't much coverage as allies coming down to the dock area. You are kind of in the wide open down there. More so than on dod_merderet.
