Adrian Peterson is almost 500 all purpose yards away from Chris Johnsons years and 5 TDs away.
You also have to question whether or not AP is the "complete back" before he's named the GOAT, being able to pick up a solid block on a LB or corner blitz to give his questionable QB the extra time he needs to complete a pass play, and yeah, the receiving yards as well. The ability to get open for short passes over the middle when coverage is otherwise good, and 500 all purpose yards (given there are 2 games remaining) seem like a lot, but it honestly depends on the OC too.

9 yards Joey. At least they made it into the playoffs. Still a hell of a season and getting the vikings into the post season.

i know man.... really bummed he didnt get it but obviously making the playoffs is a bigger deal. i just hope he gets the MVP. after this performance, i dont see how he cant. although they dont call it the MVQB for nothing... wouldnt surprise me if they give it to manning but i'd still be furious if they did.

Manning has enough MVP awards already. When I was watching the game, part of me wanted them to miss the field goal so he could get the yards he needed in OT but another part of me just wanted to see the vikings win the game to clinch a playoff berth after an amazing season #28 has had. I really don't see a reason why AP doesn't deserve MVP but as you said, it's been a QB award for a long while now, just have to wait and see. Also, if ponder can play as well or better than he did in the game today from this point on, I can see the vikings doing really well in the playoffs.

i agree with every single word. and thank you for showing a little respect... nice to see someone who knows football be able to analyze the team, even on general level, and see that they have potential to do something. with how our D is playing, how we are running the ball, and obviously our kicking game, all we need ponder to do is not turn it over and convert some 3rd downs and we can seriously beat any team in the league on any given day.

It's not about if Manning has enough MVP awards already, if he earns it, he earns it. I don't see how you can sit here and say AP deserves the MVP more then Manning does. Sure AP rushed for 2000 yards and almost broke the record, sure he came back from an injury and did all of that. Guess who else came back from injury? Manning, and while he didn't rush for 2000 yards he did lead his team to a 13-3 record tied for first in the NFL with the Falcons, all of that while being doubted by everyone that he could still play, his arm was done etc, etc. They both deserve the MVP but to sit there and say Manning has enough MVPS and shouldn't get this one even though he earned it as much as AP did, is kind of a shit move.

Just because i don't agree with you Joey, doesn't mean i don't know football.
My comment about Manning having enough MVP awards wasn't really suppose to be taken seriously. Anyone playing as well as Manning and Peterson deserves a lot of consideration for season MVP. I was merely just saying that seeing someone other than a QB winning the award would be something new. Manning has 4 MVP awards and he deserved each and everyone of them.

The preperation the Vikings are doing for the Green Bay game shows me they really want to make a point in the post-season. They opened all their practice facility doors to let in all the outside cold and turned on the AC so they could practice in conditions they will be playing in on Saturday. They really want it this year, since it's their first post-season showing since 2009.

Kinda worried tho, Peterson didn't fully participate in practice due to his abdomen and Ponder has a hurt elbow, like to see them get better before the game so the packers can lose to them again(I hate the packers, fuck aaron rodgers)

Blah blah blah go Matt Ryan!

honestly, i agree. if he earns it, he earns it. but there is a group of real life people that vote for the MVP. and some voters hold different things to a higher standard than other voters when it comes to the MVP voting. some of them think it's the #1 best player in the league. some would argue it is the one who was the most important to their team. some take into consideration other factors that other voters dont. what im getting at is that you never know the reasons why a voter will vote the way they do. considering that 2 of mannings MVPs were pretty much given to him by default, that is something that can and will factor into the thoughts of voters. so the fact that manning already has a ton IS in fact something that can be taken into consideration. im not saying its going to be the end all factor in the decision, but these voters are real ppl like us and have these kinds of thoughts before casting their vote.

anyways, my comments were more so just a manifestation of my frustration with how the MVP voting has turned out in recent years. it's obvious they tend to give it to one of the top 3-4 QBs on either of the top 1 or 2 teams in the league. and we finally have a NON QB who has performed more than well enough to earn it, and i think it's a good time to give it to him.

im not trying to argue that manning doesnt deserve it. i am just trying to argue that he doesn't deserve it as much as adrian peterson this year.

btw, i'll just leave this right here for you guys...
