Software

Post by Sp3c-BuLLeT »

It's been awhile since I last made a movie. What software (preferably freeware) should I look into using to make a movie?

most editing suites have free trials. Of the "professional" grade ones, Sony Vegas Video is probably the easiest to learn. Adobe Premiere is really a better setup, but is more difficult to jump into (it's far less automated). I haven't used Final Cut Pro X, just older versions of FCP so I can't really comment on it.

I really don't know about freeware software.

How do I turn the demos into the images? I think I remember that step. How do I get the demo into those programs I should say.

Sony Vegas is the easiest to use?

No wonder I gave up on making movies so quickly, that shit was more confusing that trying to understand a Cuban speaking Spanish.

I've actually started making a video tutorial on how to capture clips from demos using HLAE, turning them into clips so they can be used to edit in any video editor. Perhaps I should finish it so anyone that wants to start making a movie but doesnt know how to start can benefit.

Sony vegas is the best for in game footage as far as I know, and it's pretty easy to learn. Then like kaboom said, HLAE with the startmovie command, and virtual dub to make those images into clips. Or fraps if you're lazy, doesn't look as good though and you need a really good computer.
