What a time for them to disappear before regular season starts, wouldn't be surprised if calli has been moaning about doing it.

HeyHo. I finally registered myself here.

Not sure if it's the regular procedure, but I don't understand why you can't just schedule the whole season (groupstage ofc).
Haven't seen something like this the whole 10 years I've been playing this game.

if calle & stabil aren't active, someone else should do it, tbh. Hopefully there is a volunteer out there ;-)

You can't schedule a whole season for a few reasons. A) Teams love to die/quit midseason. B) The way we do schedules is that we start with the team listed first and move down the list until we find a team that they havent played. This is done to keep the good teams playing the best possible opponent. For instance, in Euro "main" there are 16 teams. We schedule so that the good teams play the teams with the best records, and keep the worse teams playing each other. This is done to keep matches competitive. You can't predict who will be where to do a schedule for the entire season.

seems like there are a lot of suggestions, but no actions coming from a community. typical dod.

well, I didn't know that you made the schedule like this.
It absolulety makes sense on the one side, but on the other side there always has been teams who are folding during a season and if you want to re-place those teams during a season, it is possible to re-place the folded team 1 to 1 with a new team in a schedule. (If you would make a random and full schedule before the season ofc). The new team surely has to be active enough and the season shouldn't be at the 2nd half, because teams will need time to (re-)play the matches against the new team.

And if you're worrying that some teams in a big division would totally dominate other teams, then just make more (and probably smaller) divisions. So you guarantee that every team play against their best possible opponents, too ;-)
I don't see the point putting teams together in a division if they aren't really meant to play against each other anyways.

No offense, I'm just wondering about this system cause it always has been like I explained and I'm wondering why TPG don't do it. You've said the reasons, but imo they aren't reasons against the old & good system ;)

cheers rippeR

This is the first proper season for most of these teams. Noone is totally sure of their ability.

that's right, but whats the pre-season all about? the pre-season gives the perfect opportunity to check which clans might be over- or underrated. So if admins are unsure about their placement, they just need to schedule the "shaky candidate" to a team which they believe is equal or w/e. And if matches show they aren't on a same level, they can simply put them into a higher/lower division.

And to be honest: I'm sure more matches could be played @ sunday [default date] if schedule would be released 1 week before. So they have time to arrange things and not only one night (I need to underline that most ppl are drunk or away from saturday to sunday anyway)

my dear fellow european friend, i think you should go take a look again in the situation of the euro dod, the team rosters and such... after some quite inactivity period there is no way admins (especially the usa admins) predict how your community will behave in regards to interest and skill level after just one season. fyi the scheduler is bult to work with your suggestion but it would be up to the euro admins to define whether they opted to do our type of scheduling or yours. i believe defiance only stepped in in this thread to clarify this to you, as the euro division have its teams move ups and downs and the ladder setting managed by euro admins. its up to them to determine what settings your division use! anyway, you seem to have interest in the tournament, perhaps you should apply yourself as an euro admin and help the euro section get played the way you guys want ;)

calli's internet is down, apparently. not heard anything about stabil.

thanks for doing the scheduling then, defiance. maybe someone can do it next week unless calli isn't back?

i like the current method for deciding opponents. it works fine. it would work perfectly if we found out who we're playing on wednesday instead of sunday... but since i don't really have the time to be an admin, i can't really complain.

Why us? We're not sand bagging trying to stay in a lower group. We just sometimes manage to get a flag when we're not tking each other.

well its not like that, but...

in my oppinion I think you guys need someone who will help calli for a while. It requires a large effort to set up a league like this and even more if you consider that DoD was dead in europe. There werent even nightcups at ED ( if i remember correctly ). So it should be all your all endavours to have a good running league with an admin who can fix the essentials things.
This also means that every should act in a fair way, because if there is someone who would be the admin and had to clear like 10 issues where someone hacked, flamed, played with lowrates or did something else against the rules I doubt he will do this for a long time. And I guess noone knows when calli will be back ?
I have to say that i was really impressed that so many teams where playing in TPG these days. Also that US teams are playing in it.

What i can bring in ( you can choose if its pro or con )

- I was ESL admin and admin for german dod leagues in 2003/2004 ( CWL, DDL )
- I would be neutral because I dont really know anyone in this game anymore
- experienced in DoD ( played also in CAL if its the same as TPG?! )
- I dont know anything about TPG and its rules
- less freetime due to work and family
- I have no problems to quit as admin when calli is back ( its his project ;D )

I'm not gonna use the application formular for now, because if I feel the most people are against it,
there is no need to applicate for something.

Hello.
Sorry for being AFK. But like animal said my internet has been down.
I tried making the schedule on my phone but for those that understand the scheduling system i couldnt find the right round. Chemille was the last preseason game and when clicked the next one i ended up in the cs leagues. The few times i logged in to steam defiance wasent online to help me.. Asked stabil to do it. But he has been busy moving to a new apartment.
Bad timing. But im back. Would be nice thou to have someone helping out with schedule.. And only that basicly. Dont know if stabil is still interested in staying on. Best would be if burp could be my deputy.
Once again. Sorry for afking on you.

Yeah, i get home from work pretty late your time, calli. If you're back I won't touch anything, I was just about to ask about all the teams that didn't play matches. Pretty much if anyone can confirm they are dead/alive.

If you want to add someone else besides stabil, send me a message or e-mail me defiance@tpgleague.org with their information.
