Which SSD?
So I'm going to be buying an SSD in the next day or two. Looking at something in the $150-$200 range. Going to have my OS and Games/Apps on it. At the moment I'm looking at going with the http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-MZ-7TD250 ... +840+250gb. Anyone have any suggestions for something better without spending over $200? Is the 840 good?

Re: Which SSD?
I have the ocz agility 3 and I would not recommend. There's some issue where it randomly stops responding and I have to power down and reboot my machine.
Re: Which SSD?
Samsung 840 PRO 256gb. No better SSD in that price range.
Intel is great, but prices tend to be higher and the Samsung is still better.
Make sure to get the Pro version.

I have that one too, my activity light goes solid and then programs stop working, until it finally blue screens and resets and sits there at a black screen, where I have to power down manually and boot up again. It happens so randomly, it could be fine for weeks, where other times it happens twice a day. It happened twice during a match earlier this season ;(scorch- wrote:I have the ocz agility 3 and I would not recommend. I have a vertex 3 240g which I thought was bad as well scorch. I ended up figuring out it was a problem with the flash plugin and firefox / IE causing my entire computer except the mouse pointer to freeze up to the point where I would have to restart. I switched to using chrome and I haven't had any trouble since.

Re: Which SSD?
Nah, it's a known issue with the SSD. When it happens, you can still access your other drives, but anything that needs to access the system drive will not respond.ward wrote:I have a vertex 3 240g which I thought was bad as well scorch. Re: Which SSD?
I'm assuming you disabled sleep mode for the drive? I heard that can cause crazy problems as well.scorch- wrote:Nah, it's a known issue with the SSD.
