Well, If I'm in Vegas, I expect to spend about 1/10 of my time playing DoD, and the rest of it doing idiotic shit that I didn't get to do last time I went. I'll just come along for the ride, and support in a way that will make this memorable for everyone.

As someone said, I don't see thing getting off the ground until you give out some estimates of the costs for the Vegas aspect alone, the bare min (lan center fees/entry fees/average hotel cost). Don't worry about whether or not people are going to support/fund this tournament LAN before you even give a starting cost. Just my .02

*edit The worst you can do is spend a night, or an hour or two a night to get an ideal cost. Post it, and wait for people to reply. Its a yes or no answer as far as I'm concerned and the sooner you can get those answers the sooner you can either go ahead with it, or nip it in the bud. YOUR WAY OR THE HIGHWAY SEARS. TELL THESE FUCKERS HOW IT IS.

I'm just trying to keep the conversation on the rails to some degree. As people earlier in the thread stated, these threads get way out of hand very easily (as this one again has) because everyone has a different understanding of the situation and reality of how these things work.

I'd say we have a 25% of being able to do the kind of event we would like to, and maybe a 50% chance of being able to do any kind of LAN at all.

This is all abstract speculation so I try to do what I can to stay ahead of these threads to keep as many people excited about the idea of having one last DoD LAN without becoming totally discouraged by the reality of how complicated, expensive, and difficult it may be to actually pull one off.

I'm locking this thread for now, I'll update when I've got some info.
