Season 31 Information

Season 31 will begin on Sunday April 7th, that gives everyone a little over 2 weeks from now to get their rosters signed up and completed. Although it is still technically season 30, rosters are unlocked for teams that are not in the finals. There will be NO Preseason this season, due to the amazing amount of FFs that occurred last season. You guys have shown that you really don't care about preseason. As a result, the season will be TEN weeks long.

week 1: dod_lennon_b2
week 2: dod_aleutian
week 3: dod_railroad2_b2
week 4: dod_emmanuel
week 5: dod_anzio
week 6: dod_merdilla_b1
week 7: dod_harrington
week 8: dod_donner
week 9: dod_solitude_b2
week 10: dod_chemille
Quarters: dod_harrington
Semis: dod_lennon_b2
Finals: dod_railroad2_b2

This will be the 31st season of TPG. I hope everyone has fun this season. On a personal note, this will be my LAST season as head admin of TPG. I don't think its a good idea for anyone to stay in power for so long. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

having aleutian emmanuel AND merdilla is kind of a bad idea :/ should replace one of the 3 with sherman or rr1. merdilla is still quite glitchy considering people can stand in the water completely out of view and shoot accurately without being seen. aleutian has been tried and bitched about non stop since its inception in 2007 :/ emmanuel is the lesser of 3 evils i suppose so that'd be the optimal choice to leave in, followed by merdilla and aleutian in that order I'd say, replacing aleutian with sherman or rr1. but other than that i like cutting preseason in favor of a 10 week regular season for sure. hopefully we can get enough input to decide to remove one of the aforementioned maps from the rotation entirely.

these bad maps give us baddies a chance to beat better competition cause we dont know the ins and outs like u do the common maps. 5.5 should welcome the challenge.

Although I don't like aleutian, and playing 5.5 on merdilla left a bad taste in my mouth for that map, I disagree. The beginning of the season alternates standard maps with newer, not as frequently played maps giving both sides of the "new maps please" debate some legway.

I think it's cause (in a lot of peoples opinion) anzio is a very team based map. I think it's a good map for finals cause it really shows a good team, you really need a lot of teamwork and chemistry to win on that map.

Am I the only one that thinks this is a little too soon? I guess wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. I just get a little burnt out after a season.

I'm still baffled at the lack of dod_avalanche. Surely is this a mistake, I will be waiting for you to resolve this issue, possibly replace that banal (yes I said banal) and overused map such as anzio in the finals. How am I suppose to win a ring on a map that I have yet to learn to play effectivly even after 8 years? PLEASE TELL ME HOW DAMN IT

I just wanted to quote because i found it funny to read "team" so much.

I personally don't mind a little difference in maps. Throwing 3 in may be a bit of a push going from 1 to 3 in a season. I would recommend taking one off and throwing an older map back in the mix, like rr1, sherman, or avalanche. Those are maps that even though may not be best league maps, most people have played enough and know the maps, while still throwing the curve ball of an upset. I personally enjoyed merdilla, and dont really care either way with the other 2. Playing different maps makes it feel like games still alive and changing. Although most people will respond with "games dead", get over it we've all been playing this game for many years, and people have been saying its dead for many years. I dont see this game dying anytime soon unless tpg happens to fall under bad management or something. 10 weeks will be an interesting change, will have to see how i like that or not. All around i think the next season looks good and hope a lot of teams and players stick around for it!

Note 1: There's a Pending/Dying teams section so if you are a new team looking for people or someone looking for a team, you might want to check out who is floating around. This will disappear when the season starts.

Note 2: This news post does not apply to the Euros. Calli has free reign to do whatever maps/amount of weeks the euros normally play. They were just a copy of our league to get everyone in the flow of how things operate. Aside from their awful use of Match Comm, the euros have adapted.

Note 3: And if anyone is close to any of these pub clans, feel free to suggest TPG to them. I am banned/not liked so it does no good coming from me: -=SoF=-, Warriors and Rebels, NeoGod, HAT, dexworld

I can only get into SoF and W & R; neither of them have ever posed any interest when I've brought it up to them. Even recently.

Been getting a few steam messages about placement. As always nothing is permanent and we are just adjusting to the total amount of teams. There's still lots of people without teams and a team or two forming, so don't get comfortable if i moved you down. I was gunna list people who aren't on a team, but i guess there might be plans so i probably shouldnt.

on a side note why put DODbr back in open when clearly they did not want to play last season and caused nothing but headaches for each team they played they should be in the EURO league for the correct time zone not in North american league

The only one of those that may is NeoGod. All the rest will probably never join. They actually hate it. Ive heard sunday nights being called "secret cheating clan games" by uneducated puppers. I mean its kinda funny, they can see us all playing and have no idea what the passwords to our many locked servers can be...
