Above the Influence DoD v1
Alright well, here a quick question that has been in the back of my head ever since early low precision days with phnx and ragesane. Since ragesane would shows us videos of the big lines he could snort of coke on video.
The question is who here playing dod is on drugs, don't hide behind I just smoke weed card, i wanna know who may be currently struggling with an addictions whether it be Roxys, dope, coke, crack, alcohol I mean shit motiv cant be the only guydoing heroin who does what and what is it you doo and how much do you spend on it a week including weed.
I've done roxys like crazy and moved to snorting heroin but quickly went cold turkey after I was spending it on bundles, now 6 months sober.

Well everyone knows how much coke/ritalin I would rail 24/7 back in the day. Record for staying awake was 117 hours. Probably why I'm awful now, switched from stimulants to opiates. Mostly just do pharms (oc's roxy's etc.) Shoot some H on occasion though. I've got a g of 90% #4 showing up in the mail tomorrow that I got off Silk Road.

I'd laugh, but

Re: Above the Influence DoD v1
Beer, weed, and xanex are my favs. I use to dabble with oxys back in the day before they became abuse proof so now I stay away from the opiates, they ruined my life for a while. I still need to work on the xanax, I dont take them all the time but on the weekend I usually pop a bar or 2 an d drink a 6 pack while smoking herb and that usually does the trick for me.

Yeah I guess it's hard for me to comprehend that you want to talk about drug addictions like it's a pissing contest. Unlike you, I have a middle ground between doing drugs and sucking dicks. I think it's great you sobered up but, I guess it really just means (by your logic) you've been sucking dicks for the past 6 months.stossington wrote:Is it really that hard to comprehend dogfire, do you doo drugs or suck dick...

Not denial. There's such a thing as being able to use drugs and function in life as well. Best in sales and service in my district at work and have a perfectly functional relationship with my fiancée. Just because I like to shoot a little heroin at night doesn't mean I'm some strung out junkie begging for change.CharlieGiteau wrote:Drug addiction, meet denial. Wait, what?! What happens if you don't shoot up?
What is "a little" to you?
How often do you shoot up?
Drug use is on a continuum for sure, as is most everything in life. Just because you're not at the extreme and are still able to hold a job doesn't mean it's not seriously problematic or a major threat. I realize you did not say it was not problematic or threatening, but just putting it out there.

Nothing? - Nice try on the "sly" attempt at trying to find out if I'm physically addicted.
I shoot maybe .1-.2 grams in a night (not every night). Of course, if it was street H it would probably be more like .5.
2-3 times a week.
I'm well aware of the risks invovled with drug use. I've been a heavy drug user off and on for half of my life. I know how to use drugs without dropping off that cliff, and I know how to go on a 2 year long bender and ruin my entire life. I don't need people in an online forum trying to say that I'm a junkie, or trying to save me, or put me on the right path or whatever. My life is great, the best it's ever been... honestly couldn't be better. I also do Heroin, HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?!?!? Just because I happen to do an illegal drug doesn't mean anything.
So please, if you don't have anything to contribute to the topic other than "drugs are bad," kindly gtfo.

No one is trying to be sly you insecure fuck. I was asking a legitimate question. Congratulations on knowing part of the rationale for asking that question, we're all very proud of you. Unfortunately for you, not being physically addicted doesn't somehow mean you don't have a problem.Gorillabc wrote:She does not.

I also asked because I am curious what you would be doing with your time, and why shooting heroin is such a better choice. I know it's weird, but I don't care what you do, I'm simply interested to hear you defend this as being "okay" or "not problematic."
If you're using a drug on a regular basis at all I would point out some sort of low satisfaction with a sober life. If you think that means nothing is wrong, then you have some serious demons to confront. Didn't call you a junkie nor am I trying to "save you," but I'm allowed to voice my two cents and say you're wrong when you think there's nothing dangerous or problematic about shooting up heroin on a regular basis.

Reading some of your rethorics makes me feel somewhat dumb and smart at the same time. In fact, what I find amusing in the vast field that is people opinion about a given subject is that no matter what this subject it is, there will be persons defending their point of views with either well grounded arguments or just in blind reckless fiercy way, almost always forgetting to ask themselves if it's something good for them or for them people around them. Subjectively, the concept of people having a conflation of ideas all together about something is just a goddamn utopy. I'm really surprised we are all enduring that long living in such world.

I don't see a difference between someone having a few drinks at night, smoking weed, or shooting up heroine.
There is a difference between an addiction and being dependent on something.
I judge people by how they are doing in life, I know people who smoke, drink, or do blow every day and are very successful. I've seen plenty of people fall of the deep end.
There is however more of a risk to tip over when you dance with the stronger drugs.
I usually have a glass or two of scotch a night when I read a book, watch tv or playing some dod.
It's your life and your body, no one else should be in control of it.

What matters most is the purpose it serves and how it's done. Habitual use of any substance which completely alters your mental capacity is not a completely safe or "okay" act. There are negative implications. Anyone who relies on substances in some fashion is kidding themselves when they say, "things could not be better." And when I say "rely" I am NOT talking strictly about physical dependence.Polak wrote:I don't see a difference between someone having a few drinks at night, smoking weed, or shooting up heroine.

Brb life cannot be better, but for some reason I have this compulsion to shoot heroin 2-3x per week. Replace heroin with any substance you like and it can be equally problematic. Depending on the nature of the use and what purpose it serves.
How the fuck can you sit here and say life could not be better yet you cannot get equal enjoyment out of life if you are not completely warping your cognitive capacity 2-3x per week or more? What a distorted view, and a remarkably low bar for what makes for a great life.
Re: Above the Influence DoD v1
We play DOD right? It's a pointless game right? Yet we invested so many hours into it's enjoyment but it's a poor addiction. We didn't study a lot because we played games and also wasted pointless hours. Anything can be twisted to be good or bad if you really want to be a dick. And once you compare alcohol you can't say any other drug is better or worse. "Everything in moderation" they say and I believe there are people who need to be on drugs to better then selves, whether it someone who suffer from terrible back pains to someone with a terrible mental disability, to someone who is so strung out that a little heroin might seriously help them (I doubt it the possibility is there).alex kirk wrote:What matters most is the purpose it serves and how it's done. Overall I agree with you Kirk, drugs are bad. But I do believe there are people out there who are mentally capable of using drugs (Paul Coon is probably not one of them) and being fully happy, I ask you to define happiness. I'm sure for you it's way different that it is for Paul Coon (I spell out his full name because I love it).
I'd also like to quote Hitchens on his out look on alcohol.
"Alcohol makes other people less tedious, and food less bland, and can help provide what the Greeks called entheos, or the slight buzz of inspiration when reading or writing. The only worthwhile miracle in the New Testament—the transmutation of water into wine during the wedding at Cana—is a tribute to the persistence of Hellenism in an otherwise austere Judaea. The same applies to the seder at Passover, which is obviously modeled on the Platonic symposium: questions are asked (especially of the young) while wine is circulated. No better form of sodality has ever been devised: at Oxford one was positively expected to take wine during tutorials. The tongue must be untied. It's not a coincidence that Omar Khayyam, rebuking and ridiculing the stone-faced Iranian mullahs of his time, pointed to the value of the grape as a mockery of their joyless and sterile regime. Visiting today's Iran, I was delighted to find that citizens made a point of defying the clerical ban on booze, keeping it in their homes for visitors even if they didn't particularly take to it themselves, and bootlegging it with great brio and ingenuity. These small revolutions affirm the human"

Re: Above the Influence DoD v1
Again, depends on what purpose DoD serves, but you're only reinforcing my point. And yes, arguably anything CAN be taken to an extreme and be considered bad if used inappropriately, whether it's video games or drugs. Look at biggie. That kids needs to get away from the internet and video games in a mean way.Polak wrote:We play DOD right? It's a pointless game right? Drugs for physical pain differs from emotional pain. If you want an explanation as to why, I certainly can, but I'm hoping this one is obvious.
I don't think drugs are inherently bad, though. That's the thing. Context is everything, and within a certain context, I'm sure substance use CAN be perfectly fine. But there are far more contexts where drug use is a rather negative thing.Overall I agree with you Kirk, drugs are bad. But I do believe there are people out there who are mentally capable of using drugs (Paul Coon is probably not one of them) and being fully happy, I ask you to define happiness. I'm sure for you it's way different that it is for Paul Coon (I spell out his full name because I love it).
I'm curious as to what purpose the definition of happiness serves here. I think that's something problematic: everyone believes the purpose of life is just to be happy, which is just a huge, brainwashed myth. That's what leads to people doing stupid shit and glorifying idiots like the morons of Jersey Shore.
Again, depends on context. This quote without some sort of context kind of means nothing, because surely Hitchens is not saying that alcohol ingestion irrespective of use, amount, frequency = good.I'd also like to quote Hitchens on his out look on alcohol.

I understand why they are different, what I don't understand is how one gets judged then the other when it comes to misuse.Drugs for physical pain differs from emotional pain. If you want an explanation as to why, I certainly can, but I'm hoping this one is obvious.
I would like to argue that, but I agree with you the purpose of life is MORE than just being happy, but I think happiness is overall the majority "push" I would hope most people have, which involves better ourselves as a race. The life experience is a ride and there are many ways to ride it. Now with what you are saying are you talking about free will when you talk about just being happy? I think there is TED talk about it, I'll link you if you are interested.I'm curious as to what purpose the definition of happiness serves here. I think that's something problematic: everyone believes the purpose of life is just to be happy, which is just a huge, brainwashed myth.

It doesn't. Misuse of anything in regards to this topic is problematic.Polak wrote:I understand why they are different, what I don't understand is how one gets judged then the other when it comes to misuse.
