Why is it that people with insanely low rep have way higher rep power than people with slightly green rep?

I try to keep tabs on who has neg rep so that I can disable their ability to rep. It's supposed to do that automatically, but it's really broken and totally not worth the amount of time it would take for me to fix it.

That being said, the whole rep system in general is really arbitrary and I tend to give or takeaway huge amounts of rep at random. #absolutepower

Haha, I'm not going to ban you for pointing out that people are abusing the system... I'll try and crack down, it just gets pointless sometimes.

We are having some major glitches with rep, and I'm considering resetting it all and starting over again. If your rep or rep power changes without getting negged or +repped it's most likely due to me trying to change the algorithm for how rep is calculated to keep people from abusing.

But please understand that it's totally meaningless, there is no penalty for low rep and no reward for high rep. I turned the auto-ban and auto-fullretard off because it's so buggy and people abuse it so often. I'm considering getting rid of it all together.
