Re: Too Many 1911s?
For me, the Glock has been the best shooting firearm to just pick up and have good groups without much practice(of all the different manufacturers I've personally tried). Once I got older and could afford the nice 1911s, they're even better. My cousin bought a HK 9mm (we all know HK makes good shit), hated it, and ended up selling it. Where I live there is a range where you can rent firearms and try them out prior to purchasing a new one(but I don't think all models are available, obviously). That in itself is a pretty cool thing to have at your disposal.kanguhhh wrote:Beas the picture is small but is that a glock? I almsot went with one before I bought my springfield xdm 4.5
I've never fired any Springfield Armory firearms. They're top notch, just like Glock. You really cannot go wrong with either.
Sucks for people in areas where firearms aren't available for law abiding, mentally competent citizens.

I think Beas wears a GL 27. I easily outshoot my friends on the loose coke-can w/ my 1st gen. model 17.CharlieGiteau wrote:For me, the Glock has been the best shooting firearm to just pick up and have good groups without much practice(of all the different manufacturers I've personally tried). I like the Glock, but for me it's too bulky to wear daily. My out and about is a wee little ruger LCP .380.
And I'm lucky to hit paper at 25 yds. with it. Definitely a last resort.

Re: Too Many 1911s?
I just got a Ruger LCR in .357 mag. Probably going to carry it with .38 SPL +P and a couple speed loaders. I need to get a full compact 1911 to carry, I have a Kimber Pro Carry II, but I feel its slightly bulky.

Traded my Glock 26 for Sig Sauer P226 .40.
Do I like it more? I wouldn't say so. Steel receiver, way heavy. Improbable to carry. Fits my hand better.
Main reason for trading was the value difference. The Sig is worth much more.
Considering trading the Sig in for an M&P .40.

I'd say it was a damn good trade if it were straight up, WAY in your favor. I've yet to shoot a .40, but my dad bought a Sig brand new in .40 and left me TONS of ammo for it. Guess I need to break it out; I've always heard good things about them.twist wrote:Traded my Glock 26 for Sig Sauer P226 .40.

It's a rare double action only service pistol, and the trigger pull is outrageous compared to the G26.

Yes that's my glock 27 gen 4 that I carried for a year. Now I.carry what I.feel is the absolute best handgun for concealed carry. ......9mm s&w m&p shield!!! Superb accuracy and ergonomics. Runs flawlessly. Field strip in seconds.....slim slim slim! Profile and American made!! Replace your snappy innacurate rugers with this much superior firearm and you'll be addicted to.s&w like I am now. Its better than glock overall for the simple.fact........s&w listens to customers requests! Glock needs to start implimenting new characteristics like s&w and Springfield. The long misconception that glock will.fire anything......has been.deeply exposed...take.your stock barrels and shoot some reloads..lol! The glock fanboys need to realize glock and lonewolf have been.ripping.them off for years.

And sigs ......don't get me started...they took a phenominal insanely accurate military ready firearm and focused on. $$$ with mass quick production and have continued to have many issues for example...RELIABILITY!! I would not trust the newer sigs with my life....id feel safer with a horribly manufactured Taurus 1911 than a sig right now. Lol

Re: Too Many 1911s?
In my opinion......if there's any pistol you need to pump as much money into getting the best money can by....the 1911 is by far the one that needs loads of research and extra funds put in. Most companies butcher the.1911 design

Fpsrussia is a good watch for entertainment alone. A much better shooter, instructor...and far more educated about firearms would be brandon. Id put him by my side over anyone on youtube if shit hit the fan! Phenominal shooter with anything.you put in his hands and the best trigger control ive ever seen. His pov videos are fun to watch and just be in awe at how precise and consistent he is. Very very gifted

Re: Too Many 1911s?
Well I sure hate hearing that. Same thing happened with Para-Ordinance. I bought one of their 1911s and had to send it back due to the trigger mechanism malfunctioning to the point to where the gun wouldn't fire at all. They said I wasn't gripping the gun hard enough, I lol'd. The top slide would rock back and forth, it was terrible. I sold it to get my Kimber, which the dealer wouldn't even take my Para on trade, so I had to sell it at the gun show, lol.Beas wrote:I'd say do it! there's a reason that person and MANY people are sacrificing losing some money to get rid of those nasty sigs! the sigs just arent even close to what they used to be! the company has gone to shittwist wrote:Traded my Glock 26 for Sig Sauer P226 .40.

Re: Too Many 1911s?
Ya this lcp has a VERY short tilt barrel and so this compact suffers in a big way on the accuracy.Beas wrote: Replace your snappy innacurate rugers with this much superior firearm and you'll be addicted to.s&w like I am now.
I did carry a short single stack 9mm for a while. The Kelt-Tec PF9. It was light years more accurate, still small enough to conceal well. Which like the lcp was it's design's main purpose.
I sold it because the grip being so short (even with the figured mag-stop), I could only get a strong handle on it with my forefinger, middle finger and a bit of my ring finger. So it always felt like it wanted to come out of my hand (to it's credit, it never did). But I sold it for the smaller .380 when the LCP and LCR first came out.
I do feel that unless it's a very close situation I really would be hard-pressed to hit much beyond 20-30ft with this lcp.
Does the s&w shield have an adequate grip? Really that was the maindrawback for the Kel-Tec for me.
Re: Too Many 1911s?
I've shot glock, beretta, h&k, s&w, springfield all kinds of 1911's and I swear nothing feels better in my hand than my xdm. Shoots great straight out of the box and this isn't important when looking for a weapon for protection but it even looks bad ass. Also, it won't cost you an arm and a leg like some of the 1911's out there though I would love to buy one but I'm getting my AR first.

Re: Too Many 1911s?
Well, I got the Sig out, and it is indeed a 226, but it's a 226E. I'll have to research the differences between the two. Looks like I'll try to find the M&P in .40 to shoot and compare the two to see which one I like better. The Sig obviously isn't an optimal carry due to its size, but I have plenty of other options.

Re: Too Many 1911s?
I have a Para 1911. Zero problems. Shoots like a champ. I also don't understand all this hate on Sigs, mine is fine. Just like most full size military pistols it really isn't designed for concealed carry. I also like s&w pistols but I'm not on here fan boying like Beas. Every pistol batch is going to have a few that end up shitty, that's the reality of mass manufacturing.CharlieGiteau wrote:Well I sure hate hearing that. Same thing happened with Para-Ordinance. I legally own and have a license to carry a handgun concealed because REALITY shows us that yes...I will never have to even.draw my firearm in public.....let alone fire it....I.hope I never have to!! But anything can happen anywhere at anytime. I am trained to do anything possible just to avoid scenarios that could escalate to me being forced to draw my firearm in public in a self defense situation. Firing my firearm is the absolute last resort and I. hope I never have to. But if I'm.getting into my car late at night and someone attacks me and starts stabbing me.with a.knife or I come.across multiple men attacking and beati ng an elderly woman or a kid...I will spend as much money possible for lawyers if I have to save an innocent defensless persons life

I enjoy them as a hobby. I conceal carry because I can. Dear Ward,
My point stand, if nobody had one, nobody would need one.
The constitution is old and outdated, law created in the 1780s should be reviewed.
Im sure atleast 90% of american cant even tell more than 2 amendments.
Are you waiting for a killing spree to happen in kindergarden to realize that?
inb4 if everyone had a gun, they could protect themselves lol! what kind of world would it be? might aswell look at iraq to see what it would look like.
