Kirk's TOP 5 THREAD COUNTDOWN

Post by kirk »

so, after some conversations with newer players it was made clear to me that many of my better threads have been completely unheard of by a lot of guys that are playing the game now. I have made by far the most dod threads ever, which I'm not proud of, but quite a few gems have come out of all of that nerd status so I decided to bring some nostalgia to those of you who have seen them, and to introduce some of these to you newer guys, by doing a top 5 countown of my greatest hits as a dod thread maker. so this is the first portion, just a couple honorable mentions, then #5 on the list. and at the end, I'll include links to every single thread I've ever made for those of you who are like me and enjoy reading a billion dod threads when you're bored :D

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Just another night...

one of my favorite projects I worked on thanks to the people I was able to get to contribute, this was just 1 night on Steam/1911 and features some amazing trolling, deceit, and boredom. and even though it wasn't named the thread of the week, look for the legendary jules winnfield getting trolled hard (it wasn't the top thread because of the absolute randomness of the situation) as well as the very first thread anyone saw of toxinator contributing to the trolling of jules winnfield, dumping all over jules winnfield's emotions.

http://nineteeneleven.org/forums/viewto ... =25&t=2119

Dear Sears

definitely my favorite Sears thread i ever made, this was an absolute blast to do. I kept extending it and extending it each day because better misc material kept coming in so it ended up being by far the biggest introduction to misc trolling of all time, with what I think is one of the best gifs ever and some outstanding trolls and clean fun-

http://nineteeneleven.org/forums/viewto ... f=25&t=122

w2z

this thread was just pure sweat blood and tears. SIX years memories from the most enjoyable lan during that time. amazing memories, i cried my balls off, and literally spent 6 years contemplating, remembering, laughing, etc and ended up with kind of more of an art project for me than anything else but its absolutely amazing to me how well it came together-

http://nineteeneleven.org/forums/viewto ... f=34&t=134

Occupy Wall Street
missions frags in this were absolutely absurd and stevie's complimented them very well. there's a portion of editing that is sketchy (see the 19 second hltv look around) but overall, crisp editing with strictly heavy frags. any of you heavies who need a good movie to watch before playing, I suggest this one.

posts were absolutely absurd and everyone complimented the topic very well. there's a portion of this that is sketchy (see the variety of stupidity) but overall, the solid material with strictly heavy discussion. any of you posters who need a good thread to watch before posting, I suggest this one.

http://nineteeneleven.org/forums/viewto ... =25&t=1108

...........................................................................

ONTO THE COUNTDOWN, COMING IN AT #5.....

# 5 Bushes are made from dreams

the first year of 1911 left my posts with few readers thanks to the newness of the website, even though they are PRO material. The thread is pretty long, but the thing that tells me how much people appreciate it is that I've NEVER had someone complain to me about the length. Just off the top of my head I know 5 people who say this is their favorite thread of all time. all posts were on 1911, on my way to posting a legendary thread, trolling for 3 hours the night of this saints match. One thing you will notice is that there was meant to be a sequel and thanks to hXc changing his play style, that sequel never came to fruition. The thread had so many good gifs from such an absurd number of posters, that the format is just post to post which is pretty unheard of to sustain the level of gifs like this. This is the chance for any questions about the making of it, the photos from it, the gifs, etc.

http://nineteeneleven.org/forums/viewto ... f=25&t=996

QUOTES FROM PLAYERS WHO VOTED FOR THIS:
7:51 PM - rymoz: Overall, a solid thread. Quality gif usage by every poster with an appearance by the now TPG-banned ceebz.

7:57 PM - sevEN: this thread is classic kirk. from the incredibly clever title, which has a very strong title to content ratio, to the quality selection of gif images provided by the readers. it delivers, as does all of kirk's gotfrag and 1911 threads. this is a thread i would read to my grandchildren over a nice fire and some eggnog on a chilly christmas eve.

Starring- kirk, jules winnfield, jarrod, toxinator, mexicant

http://nineteeneleven.org/forums/viewto ... f=25&t=996

come back tomorrow afternoon for the next installment at #4 in this top 5 countdown. A little hint for you nerdier folks like myself, #4 is the first 1911 cheater thread I ever made which had myself as one of the many posters and is the only full thread of a cheater I ever made after 2004 that was not a team thread . ^_-

Of course not. As the most decorated thread creator in DoD history (over 40 legendary threads and counting), I felt it would be nice for the new posters on this forum to see my history of threads so they can gain more insight into creating the best internet forum threads.

Krik is a very peculiar fellow; he get's into this silly arguments with people all the time. Then he breaks the people he argues with down through what he's learned. How's the PhD going? I believe in real life no one takes him seriously and his work is poop. Post a paper brah, no seriously I would love to read one. Like you have time for these posts so you must have a few papers, at least a thesis. Like look at how many comments you have compared to anyone else (except tox but that doesn't say much).

Here are my shins, kick away. I'm waiting for a good read.

You're right. I don't get why someone using a semicolon means they have semicolon Tourette's. But that's fine. I picked the little battle to liven things up on 1911 during a down period, and was now just poking fun.

He's not writing fiction. Also, I obviously referenced his use of the semicolon to imply that he was trying to sound smart, but thanks for the irrelevant quote, Kurt. Let's face it. Some people could use some of that college edumacation right about now. Reading.

I understand there are errors in his post, but aside from "get's" and "krik" these are not spelling errors, the errors are grammatical. But go ahead, nit-pick people's spelling and grammar on the internets. It makes you look really really cool.

Also, creative writing =/= fiction. That quote is highly relevant actually. Pretentious Ass = You.

Semicolons and I have something special; why can't you just let our love blossom?

Seriously, though, it's alright. I remember the days when being smart was for losers. You probably just hit summer vacation, right? It's an exciting time in a young man's life, moving from elementary to middle school. A bunch of new faces, lockers, having classes with different people every quarter; it's understandable if you're a little nervous. Just remember, on the first day of school, walk up to the first kid you see wearing glasses and punch him right in the bridge of the nose. The goal will be to break his glasses and make him have to tape them in the center for the rest of the year (bare in mind, glasses are made of tougher materials now-a-days, so you're really gonna have to let him have it). It's a standard right of passage for youngsters and the key to your inevitable popularity. That and the plethora of C minuses you will be accruing.

I hereby dub this the KO anthem:

You mustn't rush genius work.
I really don't think there is any work. I actually think you dropped out of the program and you can't even admit it to the 1911 community. I mean seriously, you can't RELEASE WORK TO US??? laughs

My writing is terrible, but it bothers me when the better writer makes a worse point and his only argument is, "How can you take this guy seriously, look at his writing?"

How about I just copy and paste shit from the internet to save me grief.

Lying is the act of both knowingly and intentionally/willfully making a false statement.[4] Most people do so out of fear.[5] Pathological lying is considered a mental illness, because it takes over rational judgment and progresses into the fantasy world and back.[6]

Excessive lying is a common symptom of several mental illnesses. For instance people who suffer from antisocial personality disorder use lying to benefit from others. Some individuals with borderline personality disorder lie for attention by claiming they’ve been treated poorly (though it is not diagnostic).[7] Pathological lying, on the other hand, can be described as an addiction to lying. It is when an individual consistently lies for no personal gain. The lies are commonly transparent and often seem rather pointless.[8]

There are many consequences of being a pathological liar. Due to lack of trust, most pathological liars' relationships and friendships fail. If the disease continues to progress, lying could become so severe as to cause legal problems, including but not limited to fraud.[9]

Psychotherapy appears to be one of the only methods to treat a person suffering from pathological lying. No research has been performed regarding the use of pharmaceutical medication to treat pathological liars.[9] Some research suggests that certain people may have a “predisposition to lying”.[10]

Pathological lying is a complex phenomenon, differing from other mental illnesses. It has many life-changing consequences for those who must live with the illness. Currently, there is not enough research in the area of pathological lying to guarantee a cure.[9]
