Potencial epic thread detected; A little pause for Van Damme's until either Alex elaborate an answer (or the Krik guy put aside his shame and show up):

So far, this is how I'm reading your posts...

In the off chance that you're serious, I'll just ask the following: what point have you made in this thread that is better than any other point...? Unsubstantiated accusations and ridiculous requests for sensitive academic material to substantiate said accusations? I don't get how you are interpreting this exchange.

Sensitive academic material which you publish openly to everyone to read and critique? But you fear that this community will steal your work and tarnish your fellowship? You have made claims of your intelligence and profiled multiple people on this forum, when I don't think any of your self proclaimed accolades hold any merit. That's it, that's my point. So if you want to pussy out and not even show your previous work then that's fine.. You did go for your masters right? You are working on your PhD correct? And you have nothing to share? No past work? There has to be something out there on the public domain and I am honestly curious about your work. Why must you delay this process any longer?

1) My thesis has not been published. As I stated: it is incomplete and will be until May 2015 because it relies on data to be collected through spring 2015. Given its current state, it would be ridiculous to post it on the internet for a public forum to read which I have no control over. If it were published and indexed then I'd have no problem providing a citation. It's not just this community and the people who I happen to know, but it's that my incomplete work would be accessible to the internet in general.

2) Please point out my claims of intelligence and who I have profiled so I know what you're referring to. I assume one of them is Corey, which was a joke (if I believed Corey had the mental illness I sarcastically accused him of, I would never make light of that), but let me know what else is bothering you.

3) What are my self-proclaimed accolades? I believe I said I'm in graduate school. What else have I said? What awards or merits have I claimed?

4) I am working on my master's now, and PhD after.

If you can please point out the claims of intelligence, profiles I have made, and self-proclaimed merits, that would be excellent! Thanks!

Are you aware that there are people in this world that have a severe medical condition which causes them to be that way? My mother for instance is one of those people. She is a truck driver that has bad knees and a bad back from driving the truck but you probably do not care about that case either. Oh well I am not one of those people I am 6'4" 245lbs and I exercise every day. I would love to see you say something like to my mother in front of me. Probably never happen though you are probably just an internet tough guy. I doubt very seriously you would say that to someones face. Just my thought. What do you think. Oh I am sorry you probably do not have a brain. I on the other hand will be happy to buy you a plane ticket to come here and see if you have the nerve to say that to someone I know.

Psych major here.

Let's think out loud about why you first notice me bringing up my size. What is it about your infatuation with the male body? Why is it that, amidst that rather extensive message, the first thing you direct your attention and focus towards is me mentioning my body? What might this say about you? I think if we get to the bottom of this, we will be able to refine our understanding of your thoughts and behaviors, along with your latent homosexual tendencies.

Good luck!

Psych major here.

Let's look at your sentence structure and see what your word usage tells us. It looks as though you purposely chose rather grandiose words, possibly to conceal any perceived deficits that you are wary of others learning. Maybe you are truly intelligent or maybe you just want to conceal yourself behind a mask of semantics. Though, perhaps it is more a mixture of both. Either way, this seems to be very telling of your psyche and general demeanor, which probably plays out in your social relationships and even in unimportant interactions. If we can get to the bottom of this, surely we would have greater insight into your world view to process recurring difficulties in your self-concept and interpersonal style.

Good luck!

The problem is you're focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the few brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck.

Then there was paul coons drug forum post if you want to go there

I'm not about to go through every single page of your comments, but you've dropped terms with regards to your schooling.

Also side note you are still on your masters? Bro you've been on your masters for like what now two years it feels like? and your PhD would start in 2015? A masters program is two years top, probably a year in a half in your field. So side note, where are your graduate credentials you can at least link us to your university profile and which professor you are working for. Indulge me in what field you are doing your research specifically. Are you working with people and doing a trail study or are you researching past data?

SHOW ME SOME SCIENCE.

You sometimes make quality posts though so it's not all is lost.

It might be worth letting people know more about the situation. I mean, otherwise you're asking people to blindly send letters on behalf of someone who might be objectively guilty in some sort of legal situation which, for all we know, could have resulted in other people being harmed in some way. If that is the case, then it would be irresponsible for someone to be asked to stand up for this person without understanding the implications of his [alleged] crimes.

Basically, if there is evidence that he is guilty, it would be silly for someone to write a letter and say, "but he's a really nice guy!" Without knowing the full details, it's kind of sketchy to write a letter supporting the defendant. Remember there could be victims here, and if you are just showing absolute support for this person in a way that intends to reduce his sentence or the odds of him being convicted amidst legitimate evidence, then it's kind of spitting in the victim's face (or faces, if multiple victims).

I imagine some people might get pissy at this post because I'm not expressing unconditional support for someone in a legal bind, but welcome to the real world. I would never just blindly stick my neck out for someone if it's clear they messed up, which I am not saying he did, rather I am saying I have no idea; but before I would ever write a letter on someone's behalf, I would need a better idea of the situation, which we do not have.

Cliffs:

-Without more understanding of the situation, it makes no sense to show unconditional support for someone because for all we know he is objectively guilty of a crime which could have resulted in harming others (physically, financially, emotionally, etc.)

With that said, hopefully everyone affected by this comes out okay.

Right - like how I've mentioned that I'm in graduate school? This has been established. You have yet to show any sort of evidence for your claims. Because, sorry, but my trolling does not count.
Also side note you are still on your masters? Bro you've been on your masters for like what now two years it feels like? and your PhD would start in 2015? This was my first year of graduate school...I don't know where you're getting your numbers from. My program is three years: two years of course work, one year full-time internship. Some master's programs in clinical psychology are 1-2 years because they are not terminal (they do not offer licensure at graduation), but mine is terminal and thus it is designed to look more like a PhD program. Hence, it is longer with required research, practicum, and internship.

What makes you think I care to post information that can be deemed sensitive on an online forum just to defend my graduate school status to you? Is it that hard to believe that I'm in a master's program for clinical psychology that you require evidence? I'll sleep fine tonight even if you don't believe I'm in graduate school, but I'm not posting specific information about my research adviser, my current incomplete work, etc.

My thesis relies on data we are currently collecting as part of a federally-funded grant project researching the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy in a school mental health setting. Want me to explain stuff in big fancy clinical words?
Polak wrote:Also this is just a Masters thesis, it won't be seen by many so another reason you could release an outline. You did make an outline right?
You really don't understand the idea of not wanting to post incomplete work on the internet? Especially something that will require three years of work which my graduation is contingent upon? What are you asking for here?

It'll still get published. But...theses are rarely read as is; it doesn't matter whether it's a master's level or doctorate level. The overwhelming majority of dissertations are read by 0 people once published.

Okay, so you're still not getting it. Let me be more direct: what makes you think I give a shit if you question whether I'm actually in graduate school? I mean, this all stems from you perceiving my trolling as serious posting (hint: a Google search of those posts would show you where they came from). Apparently I cannot prove my graduate school status without giving internet strangers the ability to access email addresses of my professors, research adviser, and fellow classmates, and/or posting my incomplete thesis. I'm not comfortable doing any of that.

I really don't care if you think I'm lying about graduate school, but I'm not going to try and substantiate what I'm doing with my life on a video game forum all because your jimmies are rustled over internet trolling. Sorry, brah! Guess you'll just have to keep questioning my education instead.

And how would posting irrelevant undergraduate work accomplish anything? Your original statement, if I understand correctly, questions my graduate school status and whether I'm taken seriously. Of all people on this forum, I really don't care if you call that into question, Rob. Like, that's fine by me dude.

Is this real life. I don't even understand the first sentence, but I hardly think it's a "pussy cop out" to not be comfortable with posting an incomplete thesis, which is the epitome of my graduate school work, on the internet. Feel free to use big words as much as you want, but in the simple terms what tests and problems are you giving to your patients (children adults or teenagers) and with the data that you are collecting what are you trying to prove? What is your thesis?

Not necessarily top secret, but it is collecting data from a pretty big grant project. The abstract would not be all that fun to read because, as previously mentioned, the data we are collecting will continue through May 2015. It wouldn't even be an abstract, more a really brief statement of the problem and a couple sentences of methods.

I've never seen someone care so much about another individual's academic career.

And because I can only assume you will wonder about the 12/15 passed credits last semester, it's because I received an Incomplete on my Thesis Proposal "course" (which is just individual meetings between my research adviser and myself) because I am not scheduled to propose my thesis until the fall. It will be changed to a Pass in the fall, but it's not for a grade.

I sure hope you got as much out of this as you hoped!

How many credits is your masters? You are saying that you will be going for you PhD fellowship in 2015 but you already have 24 credits. Usually a graduate course is complete by 30. Explain to me why you have another two years?

"Usually a graduate course is complete by 30."

Clearly this is not one of those cases. I already explained that it's two years of course work and one year of internship. It's a terminal program so we have more course work than most master's programs in clinical psych because most of those programs do not offer licensure. This means more courses devoted to research and clinical work, some of which do not give grades. For example: my practicum courses are pass/fail and there is no effect on my GPA. As are my courses devoted to my thesis.

Is this real life. I don't even understand the first sentence, but I hardly think it's a "pussy cop out" to not be comfortable with posting an incomplete thesis, which is the epitome of my graduate school work, on the internet. If that's a pussy cop out, then feel free to call me a pussy, bro. I will wear that title with pride.
BIG FANCY CLINICAL WORDS PLEASE
Alright, brah, what do you want to talk about today!

Which of those words do you consider big? I guess a few of them have a lot of letters, but I'd hardly consider any of them jargon. I think any 8th grader could comprehend that post just fine. Although I'm not the biggest fan of the recycled trolling, I do appreciate people dicking around on internet forums. That's what they're here for. Just because someone has fun by acting like a retard on the internet doesn't mean it's impossible for them to pursue higher education. Personally, I think it's more incredible that you have a bachelor's degree than the fact that Kirk is working on his master's, but I'm not here calling you out as a liar. Chill the fug out, braj.

Always considered you a cool guy from what I could gather but seems like you go out of your way sometimes to rustle some jimmies. Which is all fine and dandy but then the minute you get called out you just start trying to come at whoever with big vocab words and come off with a very "my shit don't stink" attitude. In a simpler way, just trying to say you're kinda coming off douchey. Regardless of what I've said to people in the past, better believe I wouldn't be going out of my way to try and insult or make fun of someone over an Internet gaming forum these days.... and ill be the first to tell you in a battle of wits/intelligence, you'd win hands down. But as a human being you just come off like you kinda suck. Anywho, Rob I love you lets get a drink this week

I appreciate your post, actually, as I think it was pretty mature. I don't disagree that my persona on these forums might give the impression of someone who is kind of "sucky," but it's all in good fun for me because the vast majority of my trolling consists of posting "jimmies rustled" photos which I don't see as being some heinously offensive act. To those who know me beyond surface-level impressions, I think they'd say I'm a decent guy as I do go out of my way to help those who need it (and would to anyone reading this message...EVEN POLAK or those I don't know). I have done so for a handful of people since returning to the scene a few weeks ago. Regarding life stuff - people taking advantage of that psych education~~~~. Also I've received a lot of PMs from people asking about health/nutrition/exercise, including people I don't know. Always willing to help them out as much as they ask.

In regards to this thread: I got called out over something completely false (i.e., Rob hinting at me lying about being in graduate school). Of course I'll get somewhat defensive when he's making up nonsense and reaching really false conclusions. Any "shit don't stink" attitude stems from me trying to explain Rob's false accusations. Do you have anything to say about him making ridiculous claims with zero substance? Or are you just pointing out my response to said claims? Are we overlooking his role here? Is he not coming across as douchey? That's how I saw it.

I do my best to refrain from personal insults with people who don't know me. Corey knows I like him, Rob knows I like him, my stabs at them are mutual (meaning, they have similarly taken jabs at me in vent and on the forums). I like to joke around with lots of people I know. If it hurts them on a more personal level, allow me to apologize to them right now. I have not received that impression because neither have said anything to me about it. But again, if it has, I would absolutely apologize!

3.91? LOL. Kirk, I used to think highly of you.

Anyways, as resident doctor (congrats on the PhD btw, facebook pics looked super fun! Can't believe how much Corn on the Cob you guys had at the Party.) of 1911, perhaps you could steer me in the right direction with a problem of my own. I did some bareback A.T.M. with a hooker this weekend. I have red bumps on the base of my dick, is it herpes? Because it taste like herpes.

P.S. Andy Sheen has the whole thing on tape if you need to look at some raw evidence.
