I used that thirdperson on Craftys pub multiple times this week and I can still play on vac servers. And I have had this ban for over a year now.
Had it when I joined tpg and it's because I got a blatant aimbot when mw3 had their free weekend.

unless things have changed over the years, vac bans are done in groups in a delayed fashion (we're talking at least a month). I'd presume it's to help keep the mystery of which hacks are/aren't detected. and guess what? vac bans have never been issued for anything other than executables/client hooks. cvar tweaks? custom sound files? custom sprites? custom models? No.

try to figure out what scapegoat you wish to use, but remember there are plenty of AC admins past and present who all have used hacks to review demos and yet to receive a vac ban. the only AC admin I know of from various games over the years that has received a VAC ban for accidentally having the .exe still running while joining a server was I think Steve Miller. I've personally used numerous .exe hacks for DoD AC/movie purposes and custom wallhack models for DoD:S AC.

cvar commands won't get you vac'd. nobody cares what bills you pay. you should keep your email and steam account more secure. and if you are dumb enough to join a vac secured server running cheats after reviewing demos, you deserve the vac ban.

That's probably because he used the cheats in a server. The hack I've been using to review demos for AC (and to win scrims) is Super Simple Wallhack 7.3. It's on my desktop. It hasn't gotten me banned. You guys should probably stop hacking at day of defeat. Change the title of this thread to !DO NOT USE WALLHACKS IN A SERVER!

Scenario 1:

Cheated.

Scenario 2:

Those being banned are extremely paranoid about cheaters and are spending far too much of their own time watching demos/hltv with hacks on to catch them out. As a result some have been a bit "careless" and are joining servers without turning them off first.

Both are pretty moronic but far more honest than inventing the hijacked account story or the new 3rd person view thing, a little honesty would go a long way here, heck people might even believe scenario 2 even if it was a lie! LOL

Oh and the watching demos with hacks thing is really what the tpg admins are for guys, if you think someone cheats just watch the demo normally then pass it over to those who review demos as part of their job. Why even risk having cheats installed on your pc if you aren't a tpg admin or are using them to make a movie? I don't get it?

Thank you KO. I myself have a similar one on my desktop and other things as for the same reason since I have been an AC admin etc for years. People need to read what you, myself and others have been saying. Hacks won't get you banned if you watch demos with them or even start your own private server with VAC off. You have to join a vac secure sever. <3 KO

If you watch a demo with SSW on, then forget to restart dod before joining a server you will still have SSW loaded even if you don't toggle it on, and I assume it doesn't need to be toggled for it to trip VAC.

I know that a month or two ago I was watching a demo with walls on, then got asked to 12man. Forgot if I closed the game before I joined the server, I do remember realizing and hitting F9 and nothing happened, so I figure they must've been off at that point... So yeah, hopefully everything's okay, would be pretty lame to get vacced without ever cheating in your life. I know some people might still think I cheat, but I honestly never have and have no intention to ever start, I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens, I didn't know there was that much of a delay on getting vacced

For future reference.

Download HLAE(Half-Life Advanced Effects) it has a built in wall-hack(people use it for day of defeat movies) if you attempt to join a vac server without restarting day of defeat, it will prompt you and remind you that it's still running and you should restart your game so you don't get vac'd on accident.

And Valve was like "HOLY FUCK YOU'RE PROFICTION!?" and they just straight up removed the VAC ban for him
