The best part was he wore those shoes in game 6.

He looked like an idiot when they were down 20 in the 3rd...

He still looks like an idiot now, but slightly less...

And when he wins it all again tomorrow night, everyone will praise him and his shoes...

funny how that works..

lmao, at least have the balls to get it tattooed to your body like Jet. Lost even more respect for that clown.

Pop is gonna coach circles around Spolstra.

Ginobli, TP, Green, and Duncan all go nuts.

LeBron will pull a classic lechoke and go 2-15
Dwade won't show up for yet another game
Bosh will make gay raptor mating calls throughout the game

28.

jordan was getting dick slapped by the pistons for years before he started winning rings later on. lebron has so much time

so many ppl blindly hate him and are missing out on just how good lebron really is. there is absolutely no holes in his game. he can play every position on the court at an elite level, and he can guard every position on the court at an elite level. and he has a killer instinct and plays his best in the biggest games. one of the clutchest there is. every game he wins, every mvp, every scoring title, every championship... makes me just a little bit happier inside simply because i know how many jimmies he is rustling.

I agree with you seveN. Definately the most versatile player of the past 20 years. His skill set is amazing, couple that with a great ball IQ and a great work ethic and you have one amazing player.

I still think SA is the better team. Pop is the best coach in the game and him and Tony Parker give them an instant competitive advantage when it comes to crunch time. Great 3 point shooters, the smartest big man in the game...and a wildcard you call Manu Ginobli. Just so many different ways this team can beat you. I forgot to mention one of the best young guys in the league, Lenard.

It's been a GREAT series and I can't wait to see this last one.
Both teams are so good...it could go either way.

I agree with you seveN.. miami will win because san antonio just very frustrated after losing the sixth game, lebron and wade together are unstoppable, no one has the ability to defend, and that San Antonio is a very good team defense..

I don't like anything about Miami, but I think they're going to win. Parker is probably more hurt than he's letting anyone know (his cuts are atrocious by Tony Parker standards, and his shot is way short on everything). Duncan just played a great game, and I'm not sure he'll have another one on the road. Ginobli has been afk for most of this post-season and he looks like a player who's just kinda done. LeBron played about one quarter of good basketball in game 6 (the 4th), and Miami was able to make a great comeback once he finally started attacking and finishing. If LeBron can finally figure out that killer instinct as a SCORER at the proper times, it's going to be tough for a team like San Antonio to beat them without their guards playing well.

For San Antonio to win, they're going to need an unexpected big game from Gary Neal, imo.

THAT'S REALLY ballsy to say. Maybe because I was a child when Jordan was playing but there was something about that man that made me watch basketball. Also understand Jordan took off a year for his baseball idea. Right now Jordan is rated easily in the top 3 greatest athlete of all time, of everything (Bo Jackson Jim Brown). He definitely has the most influence out of anyone. There was something about him not being in the players union etc.

But in all honesty, you can't compare the two at this point. Lebron has a whole legacy left to play and we can judge him then when we get there. I don't know why I don't like him, maybe the whole cavs situation but eh. I really don't care. I just never was a fan of the heat within my life time.

I agree with most of what Joey says...Especially when Lebron does well, I feel good inside because I know of all the jimmies rustled. This. So many people blindly hate on the heat, and for that alone I want them to win..

But

1) Lebron is not the greatest player in NBA history (yet), his career isn't over yet and hasn't accomplished enough to say that. Michael Jordan is still better than him at this point. I'm not saying he won't end up better or comparable to MJ, but right now he def is not.

2) His game is not perfect. If it was why did he have to work with Hakeem O. in the off season on learning how to post-up properly? He def hasnt perfected that in under one season. And there are plenty of games when lebron isn't clutch in the last few seconds, ie game 6. Like every other player he is a 50/50 as far as Im concerned. Sometimes he's clutch in the last minute, other times he just strait turns it over.

Lebron is amazing but he hasn't taken over any finals games like he should be doing, like MJ did time and time agian.

When Lebron AVERAGES 41 pts a game in a FINALS series, then we can start talking.

The Jokes before Lebron got his 1st ring still crack me up!

LeBron James was just traded to the Florida Panthers. He should be wildly successful, since in the NHL, there are only 3 periods.

I saw LeBron before the game and I asked for $1. He gave me 75 cents. I said where’s the rest? He replied i don’t have a 4th quarter.

What’s the difference between Saturn and LeBron James? Saturn has rings.

Why did LeBron James get an automatic transmission in his Lamborghini? He’s not good in the clutch.

Why didn’t LeBron James go to college? Because he can’t pass the finals.

What does LeBron James have in common with a fabric store? Neither carries any hardware.

Apple is coming out with a LeBron James iPhone. But it only vibrates because it has no rings.

Why does LeBron only get served boneless buffalo wings? Because he has a tendency to choke.

Tomorrow is Lebron James day, everyone gets to leave work 12 minutes early.

The haters woke up today with their same lives, just as LeBron woke up today with the same no. of championships they have.

If Lebron wanted a ring, he should have stayed in Cleveland and bought one from Terelle Pryor.

What’s the difference between Mike Tyson and Lebron? Tyson never bit off more than he could chew.

I'd like to see them old Spurs take the title!

i agree about judging lebron at this point. he has a lot of career to play and that is why i said "by the end of his career" and also "he has so much time left". i know its ballsy to say what i said about jordan and 0% of ppl would agree, but thats how i feel. but ofcourse nobody will ever let that be true because jordan is too huge. too epic. too legendary. but what i can say is if i could pick jordan in his prime or lebron in his prime to build a team around, i would pick lebron. but i am always captivated with athletes that have a very unique size/strength/power/speed/quickness/intelligence combination and lebron is exactly that

When Lebron AVERAGES 41 pts a game in a FINALS series, then we can start talking.
first off, "like game 6" ?? the 3 pointer he hit right before ray allen hit his game tier was an extremely clutch shot. you may not reference game 6 as a lack of clutchness. also, the jumper he hit tonight while he was up by 2 points with 15 or so seconds left was as big a shot any given the circumstances. lebron's game 7 averages are the best in nba history (almost 35 pt average in game 7's) he also hit the nail in the coffin during this olympic games championship with -20 seconds left. i can go on and on and on about how clutch he is but my arms would fall off.

also...

"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

damn, MJ must be super un clutch for missing 26 game winners. it happens to the best and he will miss important shots but he has proven time and time again that he hits that shot. especially within the last 3 years.

and i never said his game was "perfect" but there are no holes in his game and he does everything at an elite level. that's not to say he is perfect at everything. him working with kareem is just a great player trying to get greater.

and about his averaging 41 pts?? i would rather him score 28-33 pts with 9-11 rebounds and 8-10 assists and 3-4 blocks. i havent looked this up but i would bet he out rebounds jordan and quite possibly out assists him in the playoffs/finals. lebron does EVERYTHING. points scored is not the entire story of how dominant a guy is

now i guess i should just take back my "he is better than jordan" argument, because at this point in his career that is not an argument i can ever win no matter what. but i feel like it will at least be a legit debate in about 10 years and i am just saying it sooner than most. i'll leave it at that

Joey you're a product of this horrible post-tiger ESPN generation. I dont have the energy to write a thesis to counter yours.

You were a toddler when Jordan was playing. I guarantee if you were this age when watching Jordan, you'd be all over his jock like you are on Lebron's now. You think AP is the greatest running back in NFL history and now Lebron's is the greatest NBA player in history. I should stop right there..

I think Lebron is amazing, but he's defiantly not better than Michael Jordan, defiantly. Phil Jackson agrees, and I'm pretty sure an 11 time NBA champion coach, who is arguably one of the greatest coaches of all time, has just a LITTLE bit more credibly than you, or any fan for that matter, when it comes to who the better player is.

PS.

Bron's totally better with his 1 more assists and 2 more rebounds a game.

I was a kid growing up in the suburbs of Chicago during the Bulls' reign, so I am biased, but Michael Jordan is still the greatest basketball player to play the game. That said, Lebron has a lot of time to change that.

The main thing that draws me to Jordan is something more qualitative than quantitative. He just portrayed this quality that can only be witnessed and can't be captured by statistics or points or what have you. The man was a damn artist, and every time he stepped on the court he had this apparent passion that made him unreal to watch. It was something beyond words.

The other thing I like about Jordan's situation compared to Lebron's is that the Bulls were not built through expensive contracts and trades. The Heat is an unreal team, but they just give the appearance of something artificially constructed via money rather than naturally playing to each individual's strengths through years of hard work. This is not to say they don't work hard, but the Bulls did not rely on trading for players; they worked with what they had and built something unstoppable.

Just personal belief. I think Joey is correct in suggesting that Lebron has a chance to really become to best basketball player to touch the game in coming years, and it kills me to say that given that I grew up watching Michael Jordan, just 30 minutes from his home stadium. But ,facts are facts.

I want to make it clear, I was saying he is not the greatest NBA player in history right now, that's MJ. Of course he has plenty of time and ability to surpass Jordan but he hasn't yet.

Also kirk I have to agree you hit on something I couldn't really articulate. I'm from the bay area in California, so all my friends and family loved the Warriors butt I loved the Bulls because of Jordan. I just couldn't wait to see what he would do next. And then there are those games like when he had the flu and still played and dominated. I didn't think he was human..

Also back to game 7 discussion...where did Bosh go? 0 pts 5 fouls. derp. I think he's going to get shipped out next season if they cant repair Wade

Before Kirk finally mentioned it, was gonna say..

LeBron was handed a quality team, while MJ was the stronger leader and helped build a quality team.

All LeBron did while with the Cavs was complain, make excuses, and create a bad name for himself. When MJ played with subpar players, he shined, held his head high, and created the legendary image he holds today. LeBron is no doubt the top player in the league these days, and he has a long career ahead of him to elevate his game, but he's far behind MJ. Unless he changes his attitude, he probably won't be held in the same esteem as MJ and Kobe despite his stats.

Lebron is the best player in NBA history and by the end of his career he will have the hardware to prove it.

lebron won his first ring at 28. how old was jordan when he won his first ring?

28.

jordan was getting dick slapped by the pistons for years before he started winning rings later on. lebron has so much time

so many ppl blindly hate him and are missing out on just how good lebron really is. there is absolutely no holes in his game. he can play every position on the court at an elite level, and he can guard every position on the court at an elite level. and he has a killer instinct and plays his best in the biggest games. one of the clutchest there is. (if you try to deny that, you must have missed the last 3 years.) and he's an amazing leader

every game he wins, every mvp, every scoring title, every championship... makes me just a little bit happier inside simply because i know how many jimmies he is rustling.

fuck kobe and the shitty ass lakers

P.S.

TonyMontana, that rep i gave you was a mistake. i was trying to hit "quote". should have hit neg.

I don't like getting involved in the Jordan/Lebron debate, but, as a Lebron fan, this was the best response. In my opinion, you can't judge a career that's over vs. a career with several years to play. Jordan is a legend, Lebron is becoming/will be one. When it's over we can have this debate all day, and I'm pretty confident it will be Lebron.

In other news, one of my good friends works for ESPN radio down here and filmed this outside the Heat locker room last night: n8l_6jFZxjA

jason, your weak attempt to insult me was over a point that i had retracted since you made your post. and everyone has their own opinions and everyone values different things when judging a player and his greatness. i could go on for days typing responses to everyone but i wont. i just find it funny that more than half the stuff ppl use to bash lebron, jordan was guilty of the same shit. and lebron was handed a team? MJ had hall of famers ALL AROUND HIM THE ENTIRE TIME. you all act like jordan single handedly won 6 rings. who was coaching him? top 3 coach of all time... and who did he have around him? i'd take pippen and rodman over wade/bosh any day that ends in a Y. ESPECIALLY since lebron joined up with wade during wade's decline and bosh has been outright bad at times during his 3 years with the heat. and sean, everything you said in your post is not even close to the truth about lebron in recent years. that has been the exact broken record that all the blind lebron haters have been saying for years and you dont watch enough basketball to understand that what you're saying is so wrong.

sorry to all the butt hurt jordan kool-aid drinkers. once again, i will not say lebron is the greatest ever since he hasn't finished his career. but i'll be standing here in 10 years saying i told you so.

not you at all. yours were very reasonable. that was more of a general statement. jordan has just been ingrained in our culture as the undisputed, unquestioned, and undeniable best player ever without any takers. and ppl won't ever stop to fathom the idea that anyone could be half as good as he was. i think there are certain players that are closer than anyone gives them credit for

All messing aside Joey, there is just one counter-point/argument that Lebron fans always use and it's just strait wrong and I'm not just picking on you..I hear it from everyone.

So the statement is made that Lebron was handed a team and his championships were bought and manufactured. (I'm not saying this, this is just a popular argument).

Then Lebron fans retort, like you, that MJ was surrounded by hall of famers too, so its a moot point.

Here is why this is a bad argument. Dwayne Wade was ALREADY good before Lebron joined, Chris Bosh was ALREADY good before he joined Lebron. Lebron didn't make them better, in fact quite the opposite. You said it yourself, DWade and Bosh are playing worse with Lebron. Lebron sought out and joined up with already proven all-stars.

MJ didn't join hall of fame teamates or all-stars, he MADE them. Scottie Pippen was a great player don't get me wrong, but you think he would have had the same career he did w/o Jordan? Same with any of the role players he had over the years. John Paxon, Steve Kerr, Horrace Grant, the list goes on. All of those players played for different teams in their career before and after their years with the Bulls(Jordan)...And all those players had no where near the numbers they did when they played with the Bulls(Jordan). They got more open and scored more points on the Bulls then they did with any other team because everyone was worried about Jordan. They got more assists on the Bulls then they did with any other team because they were passing to Jordan...The only exception to this is Rodman, he was a beast on Pistons and Spurs long before he joined the Bulls. But once again if you look at his stats, it shows his scoring and assists increased when he played with the Bulls(Jordan)...Surprise.

I think my point is obvious here without going on much further. Jordan was surrounded by hall of famers like Lebron, yea that's fine, but the key difference is Jordan created those hall of famers, where as Lebron just made his worse.

And its not that people can't fathom others being as great or greater than Jordan, it's the things that Jordan did that cannot be measured is why he is the greatest, something that Kirk touched on nicely.

oh and this..

bro, this is the 8th time i have to tell you this to get it through your head of yours. the second quote you listed has been RETRACTED since it was posted. yet you keep basing your posts off of that one comment. i have since taken it back and admitted that while i feel like he will be arguably just as good or better than MJ when all is said and done, i cannot make that statement right now with so much of lebron's career to go. so keep hanging on to that one comment if you want to...

lebron doesnt make hi steam better? ARe you kidding me? All he does is draw double and tripple coverage and give shooters WIDE open looks. do you think battier hits 6 three pointers and 8 three pointers respectively in 2 straight championship close out games without lebron drawing 4 defenders into the paint? Or mike miller? Do you think a guy who has over 8 assists a game in his playoff career isnt creating shots for his teamates? for you to say he isnt making his team better is absurd and an argument i feel dumber for even acknowledging.

you literally just described lebron's career with the heat, except you subbed lebron's name with jordan and the other heat role players with bulls role players names. nice job bro. somehow if you put jordan's name in it, he makes his team better but lebron doesnt? and lol, are you trying to use a capital MADE when describing how jordan MADE pippen?? do you think pippen was voted to 10 all defensive-defensive teams during his career? (two of those 10 being with the trail blazers and rockets, which were without jordan...) do you think he lead the league in steals because of what jordan did? this argument is yet another jordan kool-aid story. pippen was a hall of fame player in his own right, separate from anyone else. it is just selective logic when you try to discredit jordan's surrounding talent because he MADE THEM, but lebron gets knocked because he is playing with SUCH AMAZING SUPERSTARZZ!!!!
tenks wrote: I think my point is obvious here without going on much further. Jordan was surrounded by hall of famers like Lebron, yea that's fine, but the key difference is Jordan created those hall of famers, where as Lebron just made his worse.
lolz... i count 1 single hall of famer that has crossed paths with lebron since joining the heat. and that is wade. i can name at least 4 that are already in or have strong consideration to be in. and how on earth does lebron "make his worse" ?? if you are blaming dwayne wade's knee injuries and bosh's softness in the paint on lebron, then...... once again man you are just saying shit at this point. none of it really holding any merit.

and the rings... great one. the ultimate team accomplishment being used to compare one player to another. but lebron is a 3rd of the way there to catching jordan anyways and he has 7-9 years of elite basketball to do it. the whole rings argument may only be valid for another 6-7 years so use it up while you can bro!!! Time is running out!
