Seeing as last year the 49'ers were 0-1 against Seattle with Kaepernick and outscored 48-26 overall, I'm not too worried about it.zi0n_ wrote:niners about to 2-0 the hawks this season, what you got to say about that fleendeezy???Fleener wrote:His award will look great next to his Lombar............ I don't see Kap bowing down to Wilson, imitating his moves..(that he doesnt have)
Wilson knows whats up

p.s. Why bother arguing over who the 2nd best rookie QB was last season? Seems pointless. I guess, once you add in Luck, you're actually looking at a race for 3rd.

| actually don't see anyone arguing that topic in this thread.
But I will entertain it... first off...how many playoff games to RG3 win? Oh thats right. How many total games did RG3 have to amass his stats? Oh that's right.

Re: breakin' through
There seems to be a pretty clear implicit Kaep vs. Wilson argument going on. Just figured I'd chime in to keep those two in check, somewhere near the back of the line in rookie QB ranking.
As for the sunglasses, everyone wears them TO the awards. Don't step up to the mic with them on. That's universal.

Kaepernick wasn't a rookie last season
Also, only one of the three rookie qb's have a playoff win. But, no reason to argue whose better, I'll let the season do the talking.

As for the whole "winning" thing, irrelevant. Would have been interesting if RGIII were backed by an elite defense instead of, ya know, a bad one.

Dammit, tenks, making me get all serious: teams determine wins. Who is actually the better QB gets way too fucking complicated for any of you nerds to actually determine objectively. If a QB throws 100% accurate passes, but his receivers blow ass, can't make a catch, and they lose a bunch of games because of it, are they a terrible quarterback? Negatory. I don't give a shit about this QB mental masturbation exercise (seveN already won the thread), but bring it out of the bush-league on the logic front.tenks wrote:Wait you just said wins was not a determining factor in who's a better QB?

3 reason's off the top of my head why you're wrong.
1) 2011 Colts. Same personal offensive and defensive with and without Manning. We all know what happened there. (2-14)
2) 2012 Colts. ANdrew Luck took the same 2-14 colts from 2011^ and got them to 11-5 and a wildcard game.
3) 2012 49ers. Same offensive players and defensive before and after kap. How many superbowls did Alex get to? 0
Ask yourself...how many good, winning and successful teams in the NFL have bad QBs? (besides the Ravens)

Re: breakin' through
I don't really know what point you're trying to make, but if a QB can make throws and a receiver can't catch them, they will be unsuccessful as a team. If a QB can't make throws, a receiver can't catch them (or won't, most of the time), so they won't succeed as a team. And that says nothing about their running game; but, generally, if you don't have a pass threat, you have a really difficult time with you run game. Unless:tenks wrote:crawtona wrote:Dammit, tenks, making me get all serious: teams determine wins. (and THAT is even a stretch)
My point: it is a TEAM game. People try to boil it down to the QB, but that's bullshit. It is about the team. Unlike the NBA, you can't win a title in the NFL with one big name player in a key position.
Re: breakin' through
The point was pretty obvious...I don't know how you missed it. QBs who are good, win games. Thats what we were talking about in the first place. The difference between WIlson vs Kap vs Luck vs RG3. WINS... Then you had to explain to me that the NFL was a team game, which I didn't know? And then you got off topic a few times and then started making points that had nothing do with anything.
are you serious? did you not read my post? Wtf? RBs? Adrian Peterson? What are you even talking about?
Peyton Manning? Colts? Guess that means nothing to you. You obviously don't watch modern football. I'm sorry son, it's a QB league and if your team had one, maybe you'd have AP with a ring on a his finger in that pic. The end.

The QB makes the team 100%. Look at the Arizona Cardinals...Kurt Warner=Led them to a Super Bowl. Kevin Kolb was an awful QB. Let's go Palmer (dear god)
Re: breakin' through
I'm probably the best QB that ever lived. But every time I throw to a receiver, he drops the ball. It's not my fault, it's his. So thats why I'm not in the NFL.

Re: breakin' through
Not sure if joking or just retarded? I guess I forgot about how QBs can, probably through some sort of brain wave technology, actually personally force their receivers to run their routes properly, then magic the ball into their intended target's hands, making sure they don't drop it during or after the catch.tenks wrote:I'm probably the best QB that ever lived. Good point. Sorry, you're right. The QB makes the entire team. That's why they spend millions a year on QBs and fill the rest of the positions with homeless guys they found on the street who will play for half a sandwich. Because if you're a good quarterback, the rest of the team doesn't actually have to do anything.
I'm not denying you need a good quarterback to win games (they are in a leadership position after all and touch the ball basically every fucking play), but that's not all you need. If you have a great QB and the rest of the team is solid, while not necessarily superstars, you do have a really good chance of going all the way. And the opposite is true as well. Bad/mediocre QB = almost no chance.
The best part about your argument is that if a QB doesn't have a good team surrounding him, is constantly getting rushed in the pocket, receivers aren't losing their coverage, etc, you'll just say they are a bad QB. So no matter what, you'll always just boil a win or a loss back to the QB, even if that isn't where the biggest factor or problem lies.

I know you're trying to be sarcastic here but you are actually right. And again just proves how disconnected you are from the modern NFL.
The Baltimore Ravens just signed a QB for $180 million dollars. What did they do to the receiver that essentially won them their superbowl and made said^ QB look way better than he is? Traded him away.
Guess how much the rest of the current 7 wide receivers left on the team are making COMBINED over that same period? $35 million dollars. For SEVEN players that catch the ball from ONE player, the QB.
$35 million dollars for 7 players compared to $180 million dollars for 1 player.
Thank you bringing it up and proving my point further

there is no debate. The funny thing is, if you actually read anything I wrote, every point I've made you'd normally agree with because you know stuff about football but your ego and hate is so large you won't agree with anything I say. It's a QB league, I dont care how great AP is, thats a fact.

first off, there is a VERY big difference between 120 mill and 180 mill. i wouldn't consider that "irrelevant". for anyone to throw around the number of 180 million and not think that was just a little bit too high just goes to show (once again) your lack of knowledge around football. i didn't even know the exact number of flacco's deal but i knew damn well that it was beyond too high because i actually know the precedent that has been set by the other elite QB contracts in recent years like manning/brees/rodgers etc.tenks wrote:$120, $180? the point remains the same, $120 > $35. leave it up to you to point out irrelevant mistakes.sevEN wrote:180 million? secondly, i will disagree and agree with almost anyone based off the topic at hand only.. including friends and people i hate. don't flatter yourself and think that my "hate" for you will cause me to go against what i believe is true and disagree with you just for the sake of disagreeing. For example...
Do i hate Dustin Young? Absolutely. Does he mostly contribute logical football information and opinions? Yes he does.
Lastly, never have i said this was not a QB league. But that doesnt change the fact that right now, the best player in the entire league is not a QB and that is something i embrace as a fan seeing as that player happens to be my favorite player on my favorite team. this is what fans do. you are touting kapp even though he has only started 12 or so games in his entire career... because you are a 9rs fan.
Also, to touch a bit on your debate with craw, i think both of you have valid points. it is easily a QB driven league, and that is the most important player on the team. I dont think craw would deny that either. But i think what he is trying to point out is that it is a team game and THE TEAM has to come together to win championships. You cant just put an elite QB on the field and expect to be playing in January if your entire team isn't talented, on the same page, playing together, staying healthy, catching breaks, and helping your QB be the elite QB that they are by blocking, catching, running the ball, and playing hard for him. Look at one of this qoutes for his recent post.
"I'm not denying you need a good quarterback to win games (they are in a leadership position after all and touch the ball basically every fucking play), but that's not all you need."
He is pretty much agreeing with you on the importance of having a great QB. But you dont seem to be seeing his side of it which is you need more than just a great QB, you need a great TEAM that plays together as a TEAM that can support the QB and let the QB be great.
Jason, i want you to know that even though i think you are gay as hell in game at times, which can annoy me in a late night 12man causing me to call you out, does not mean i hate you as a person and want to disagree with you on football. if you say something i agree with, i will agree with you. if you say something stupid like a guy having an 180 million dollar contract, i will come out and say it.
Re: breakin' through
Lol Joey agreeing with gorilla...lol this is too much. Only kid that jocks my nuts harder in the dod community than Joey Ha(r)ter himself. haha.
Joey..joey joey...TO be honest I don't even know where I got the $180 million dollar figure from. And the fact that you're saying I dont' have football knowledge cause I got the #s of a contract wrong are hilarious and a pretty weak argument when you dont' even know the exact numbers yourself. The point was pretty obvious. The QBs contract, 1 player, was vastly larger compared to 7 of his other players combined. Illustrating the point that teams care more about the QB than any other position and they're demonstrating that with contracts and money. Cant be any more clear than that.
Joey, many people agree, you were a much cooler person when you were fat. You lost all the weight and became an arrogant douchebag. Also I haven't played a late night 12man, let alone DoD with you in probably a year. Joey it's not 2006 anymore, move on man. smh

Pretty much this. Re: breakin' through
it's not that the number itself was wrong. it is the fact that you did not realize that 180 million is by far too much money for any contract ever negotiated in the nfl. if you were off by 5 million, then that might be an error in remembering the actual contract. but for you to not recognize that 180 is not even in the same universe is funny to me.
think what you want jason. i actually think i was much much worse as far as shit talking way back then when i was fat. cuz i cared about dod and took it to heart sometimes. but i haven't for years. you are just mad that i have singled YOU out as of late due to your horrendous in-game skill level and gay play, as well as your lack of knowledge about football. you can get together with those "many others" and play on the freeway because every person you are talking about i share a mutual displeasure for. and to think i actually let you into dodealers myself, after none of the dice guys would let you in... guess we all make mistakes

Jock your nuts? I think not. What's so wrong with Joey agreeing with me that you're an idiot? You've pretty much proven it in this thread.
Please don't act like you're special enough for me to "Jock your nuts." You aren't. I hated you from the moment you sat down in my truck with your ugly girlfriend in Austin. (Please don't try to go over the details of this, they don't matter. But it's the exact kind of thing you'd latch onto to distract from the main point, as you did above.) Never said a word about hating you/you being an idiot then or after, only started pointing it out recently. Why now, you ask? Because it was the first time I remember ever playing together with you in a match/scrim/12man. The fact that you were playing like garbage (normal for you I have since learned) and bitching (also normal) at and complaining (again, normal) about everyone else and acting like they were the reason you were doing badly is why I began being vocal towards you about my feelings about you. Now, if I went out of my way to point out your mental ineptitude, or continually tracked you down to do so, then maybe that could be considered "jocking."
TL;DR - You're a moron.
PS: Please don't call me kid, pretty sure I'm the same age as you. (Also doesn't matter, see first parenthesized section above.)
