Sears Buys Out CleanDoD...?

First time I posted this it was magically deleted...trying again the morning after my first post attempt.

Interesting timing, isn't it? This has been an anti-cheat client for years, and weeks after DoD starts to use it, they just up and quit? Too much of a coincidence for me, personally. I went to the xmvc vent and saw tox and Sears talking in a channel, so I went to see if they had heard about this.

Now it's odd because when I brought up the topic they were being all weird about it, and Sears kept saying "let's just say I saw this coming a mile away," while laughing in a strange way. At first it just sounded like they thought it was a funny situation, but it seemed to be more than that. Since Sears was acting off about it, I just PMed tox...

So checking Sears' instagram, he posted a photo of his PayPal where he is sending money to someone with a blurred out name. But if you look closely enough, you can make out some of the letters...

So, I don't know exactly what the deal is, but it seems that Sears is sending the head of CleanDoD a lot of money on the day they say they are shutting down. I mean, it looks like Sears just purchased rights to CleanDoD or paid them to shut down or something. And as Sears has told me he's not made of money thus needing help to maintain this site, I feel like some of that could have come from the 1911 fund...

I don't know, bros. Shit is weird.

What if both esl and tpg use it now, and they offer ads like it has, but then FORCE you to get a license for 5-10 bucks. Would be a good way to recoup some of that money.

Sounds like trolling, I can't really see Alex giving a crap about this. If it isn't, I really could care less if we use CleanDoD or not and do not think it is justifiable to pay for the rights to own the software. I have played in TPG for a moons age and haven't come across many cheaters and if someone is, then AC will catch them at some point.

Also, if someone is using illegal binds like the crouch hopping, it doesn't ruin my one hour match per week.

I oppose big brother in the real world and I will do so as well in the "dod-world"

It's a waste of time. If you think I'm cheating dispute me and I'll give you demos ss and config.

Don't have me install some stupid client that's giving people a hassle.

Stop trying to make a dramatic change to a system that seemed to carry itself well through the years.

But if this becomes the Norm I'll sadly do it.

While there were many configuration changes found throughout the community, many impending bans and warnings will not be able to go into effect. That said, your game and your files are your responsibility and any changes found outside the rules will be reviewed accordingly.

Perhaps an edit to "will continue to be reviewed " could be used, but the first sentence was a statement of there were 20 one week suspensions and 5 warnings for rating that were going to be announced yesterday (and still may happen) before the cleandod announcement.
