A certain amount is absorbed and then the remaining is turned into energy

I think the point of this thread here is that we all look like a goddamn redneck Adonis.
Re: Let's talk supplements
are there protein pills? I take protein powder once in awhile. The only things I take consistently are fish oil, greens, and bcaasJstampz wrote:scorch- wrote:Shut up and read what sears wrote and then shut up some more.

Seriously it surprises me how dumb this 12 year old is, no amount of supplements can account for how little you actually know about health and fitness.

This thread isn't about nutrition. It's about supplements. In certain points you need boosts from supplements. Protein is ideal for muscle growth.Shawn wrote:Seriously it surprises me how dumb this 12 year old is, no amount of supplements can account for how little you actually know about health and fitness.
I'm pretty sure you sit me down with a pad and paper and I can show you I know far more than you do in the category of fitness and health.

I stopped taking creatine on a regular basis and I'm only taking protein.
I start wrestling conditioning tonight, and when I take creatine I get dehydrated to easily.

It's really not that complicated bros.....

Re: Let's talk supplements
Everyone reacts differently to creatine, but I never had an issue with dehyrdration and I was training 5-6 times a week. If you don't already, buy gallon jugs of water in bulk and drink one a day.Jstampz wrote:stile wrote:powder. i'm not taking it right now though.

Besides that, if you're in season for wrestling you shouldn't be on creatine because it retains water in the body which makes cutting weight that much harder.

Re: Let's talk supplements
Very few supplements are worth the money especially in terms of muscle gain/fat loss. It's an equation involving thermodynamics and proper nutrient intake, simple. Creatine is the only one that might be justified but even then it's iffy and highly variable (depends on diet and experience). It should be the least of your concern.

False.Jstampz wrote:You're wasteing protein. Your body can only take in roughly 30 grams of protein in a given time frame. From your diet it seems you get a good amount just from food alone. If I were you I'd stay on the same regimen just find a better tasting, lower protein filled powder. 3 times a day is a little much if you're using a protein like I use to use with 50+ grams in it.
If your protein powder only has 30-40 grams than bravo my friend. Your water intake is steady and creatine always helps.
False.Jstampz wrote:Stile, I recently read it in Men's health magazine.
It said your body can only take up to 30 grams every 4-5 hours. So as I was saying is he had some giant ass 60+ gram powder then he'd be wasting some of that protein. I'm a firm believer in the concept of 30 grams every 4-5 hours.
I do like the 24 gram protein you are using 3 times day. If you miss a meal or maybe a shake I would look into a slow digesting protein like Casein protein. You take a shake before bed so you are getting protein to your muscles all through the night. Optimum nutrition makes a really good pure Casein protein.
Keep on lifting brah
And ace, sorry, the old thread was 56 pages long.
False.Jstampz wrote:When more than 30-35 grams of whey is used at one time, it is absorbed too quickly, and what the body cannot assimilate for tissue repair is oxidized for energy. If you don't work it off, it ends up around the old waistline. The latest research has found that more whey protein is oxidized for energy than was first thought. Most people should limit their intake of whey at a single sitting to approx 30 grams. Again these numbers are quite arbitrary, and everyone will respond differently. Mixing whey with milk, adding peanut butter or flax will probably help some, though it won't help as much as some people might think.
