FPS help

Post by badnewspanda »

When I start getting pretty drastic FPS drops that usually means that my computer is filthy causing my core temp to be retardedly high (around 70-100C). Normally simply by blowing out everything with compressed air does the trick. But this time after thoroughly cleaning everything out in my tower and lowering my core temp to a reasonable 30-40C I still seem to be getting constant fps drops in games like DoD and CS but no real noticeable difference in more demanding games like payday 2 or RO2. I'm not the most tech savy person so I thought I would turn to my fellow nerds here on 1911.

my specs:

Intel Core i5-750 CPU @ 2.66GHz 3.49 GB of RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5700

Since I got this new comp (thanks laura) the only game I've had noticeable performance issues at times is DoD. It's just got some super shitty programming going on or something.

Stop pubbing on 475th's ava server and you won't suffer fps drops, at all.

I have my fps max at 65 but I'm getting drops that go down to around 30-40 fps. It makes maps like lennon almost unplayable.

What is your monitor refresh rate set to? If you have vsync on, a generated fps drop to 59 fps will drop your displayed FPS to 30 to match your monitor refresh.
