Re: Your biggest DOD influences
Wow, I'm not even sure where to start. Of any "community" I've ever been a part of, DoD always had the most interesting personalities, which I think was reinforced by the relatively small playerbase. Even among people that hated each other, everybody influenced everybody else in some way, and I think that's what made the glory days so great.
Anyway, my influences, not necessarily related to the game whatsoever:
kame - for being my friend and then disappearing off the face of the planet
jello - being the richest, funniest and most attractive dod player (also the loudest)
ackpth - weirdly responsible for my taste in music over the past decade
darkrabbi - in a world where nobody had their shit together, he always did. put up with me even though he didn't have to.
profiction - mainly because of his daft punk alarm clock. perhaps other reasons
ward - possibly the biggest shittalker to ever grace the game. backed it up
eckman - the player everyone wanted to be. talented and nice about it. i watched a whole episode of shalom in the home because of him.
veridian and the entire uTi crew - gave me my first chance to be involved in the community and my first introduction to the hobby of getting drunk while playing videogames
i0nized and everyone at CPL 03 - introduced me to everclear at the tender age of 16. didn't abandon me after i proned in the hyatt regency lobby
Last but not least, the rest of the mogga crew & friends, crazyvato, ivan, timkim, everyone remaining from |NUDE|, for giving the whole scene some life long after the game died for me.
My only regret is being a major-league shithead to almost everybody, all of the time. I could have had a real friendship or two. Anyway, thanks for the memories, ya'll.

WTF man. If you're around, add me on steam. I don't really play DoD anymore , though. ward@ethug.orgsuicyde wrote:Wow, I'm not even sure where to start. cyan007 movie was the begining of everything for me too karmaster, the man with the golden kar

then the mens of team-RAV
xds team
as of single player... the player ive spent the most time with would be my RL friend Liquid- and for those who remember, Parasite from NIL8 (RIP Jeremy)
skillwise
rifle- pothead, tox, liquid, rambizzle
heavy- greenbudz, moneyb, rambizzle
sniper- marshall drummin ( pretty sure that was his name), jaggon, honourman, rambizzle
and for light... i dont remember other people then yoda and jaz, rambizzle
and for the funniest moment, we still have fun with that... for those who remember ( FUCK THE DEMOS ! there is now way you can shoot someone with a bar a block and a half away ! that gun goes straight up ! )

Re: Your biggest DOD influences
I must say it is an honor to be voted the most influential DOD player of all time. I must admit that over the years I was concerned that my standing within the community was waning but today I realize my folly and take my place among the most influential players of all time.

Re: Your biggest DOD influences
Damn I wish I read this 10 years ago. Really cool thread hahah.
Green Elephant - If he didn't make Tour of Duty, I would have never found Day of Defeat.
I met Falx/Tom Harrington(some guy from FL) through that game. He recruited me to play DOD in that game when it started dying. Him and all of the people on High Precision helped me learn the game and let me scrim with them. Cory Price, Mogers, River Oyster, some Mexican guy who was hilarious, and a bunch of others. Can't even remember their names it was so long ago.
Eventually I joined Freshjive/FlatOut with Nugz and Joel/Mimmerzim and some CS guys ... coalminer? and I forgot who led the team. Stayed with that team for my entire "career" because this community was so toxic I had no desire to make friends. Cold turkey quit DOD when I went to college. But it was dead around then anyways.
s/o
Nugz, wiz, Mimmerzim, Q, arn, mogers, corey price, lots of people on high precision who gave me a chance to play the game.
Most of my playstyle centered around playing against players way better than me too soon into learning the game. Pretty much went for shooting people in the back and trying to ninja cap.

BlackHawk, you know I was your biggest influence, but you couldn't get on my level so you just had to go install those cheats. I'm not mad just disappointed.
Re: Your biggest DOD influences
Just reading the names in this post brings it all back! Lol
Dorito, toX, Hannibal, ackpth, profiction.. so many!
