Re: dayz standalone
Waiting until beta. I'm pretty sure this game still needs a ton of work.

Played it with friends for two days now, it's crazy how rare can openers are.
They really need to let you open the cans without them or add a whole lot more of can openers cause it's sort of stupid that not being able to open a can is a game ender.

Re: dayz standalone
This is what happens when the only people talking on the DayZ forums giving suggestions are the retard 48 year olds who only want a survival sim. The PvP aspect of the game is what got the mass amount of players, not the faggoty leg breaking and the sickness that can only be cured with antibiotics that can only be found in one location.Cage wrote:Played it with friends for two days now, it's crazy how rare can openers are.

Do anyone know how to turn off mouseacc? For some reason I can't seem to do it, I know it's alpha and all maybe it can't be turned off.

Re: dayz standalone
The PvP actually drove me away from the game. I don't mind PvP and harsh consequences for it but for me DayZ was more about a broad spectrum of emotions that you can explore through interacting with players. There was no reason to risk it once the game got so popular; every experience boiled down to murder. I think with the low availability of weapons, and a vastly expanded crafting system that requires a lot of items, there's actually an incentive to get to know people and/or work with them and/or betray them later, instead of just shooting them and taking their ammo.Cage wrote:Agreed!ward wrote:The PvP aspect of the game is what got the mass amount of players, not the faggoty leg breaking and the sickness that can only be cured with antibiotics that can only be found in one location.

I think for a purely PvP experience, Wasteland is SO much better. They have the survivability bullshit carrying over from DayZ though which I think they should just get rid of it altogether, but you'll probably die of a gunshot before dehydration anyway.

As long as there is the capability to kill other players in that game, you will always have people who murder without thinking twice. There isn't even an incentive to group together with other players other than the increase of force with more numbers. They would have to add incentives/objectives that can only be carried out by working together as a group.motive wrote:The PvP actually drove me away from the game. I would be all for the decrease in the amount of firearms available. Make them scarce and have melee weapons like knives more plentiful. It will create a lot more tense situations without it just being one player getting his head blown off and the other giggling and skipping off into the distance with his can of beans.

Re: dayz standalone
What made dayz so enjoyable for me was when good guns were hard to come by, especially ammo for said guns. Just rolling in Elektro with Winchester's was a ton of fun. Now it seems like guns are so easy to find, and people will just hide in bushes for 30 mins to kill unarmed people. Instead of having exciting battles with shitty weapons.

It's an alpha and they're probably gonna fix this but rocket said that the ammo was gonna be hard to come by.
I died and within 3-4 hours me and two of my friends that I was playing with was fully geared, stacked our ammoboxes and had maximum backpack space stacked with food.
It just seems to easy for the time being.
EDIT: Maybe it's just the euro players being bad but we hardly run into people up north, the only place we have seen people. We did a test, camping the top of the fire station of the northwest airfield for around 4 hours and saw maybe 6 players.
Other then that the players we have seen was mostly around the coast towns running around with flashlights in the dark like dumbasses.
