TPG Nation League

Post by Tin Bad »

TPG Nation vs Nation League
Teams from different nations play each other to compete for the International title.

AKA -
U.S.A.
Canada
Brasil
Argentina
UK
France
Poland
Spain
Denmark
Germany
Holland
Sweden

Matches played every 2 weeks.

No Default time, Teams will decide when to play their match (They have 2 weeks to do so).
Issue #1:
What if a Nation has 15 players wanting to play?

Possible Solution:
We could have another division for over flow and limit the main division to 8 team members. Then the additional players for that Nation can create a 2nd team in the Over Flow Division and play against other overflow teams. They can also play in their matches in the overflow division or if the Team in the Main division needs to use them they are eligible roster'ed players for that nation.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Issue #2:
Who gets to Captain the Team if multiple people want to?

Possible Solution:
We can have a vote on the TPG website for the Captain

Thoughts? Other Issues? Other Solutions?

I think there is probably enough American DOD players that could warrant east and west teams.

Brazilian captain reporting for duty.

Btw, great idea Tin Bad!

With pings being fluctuating between 50 to 250ish, it's possible to finally have this thing rolling.

The ringer clause should be abolished for this tourny, with the exception being the ringer's nationality being the same of the national team he has been asked to ring.

good idea!

issues: while many of the european countries you listed will struggle to scrape together 6+ active players, USA has like 100+, so maybe split you guys into regions?

pings are the other obvious issue but I'm sure we could pick 'neutral' servers where possible (ie. if south american vs european, take an east coast / southern american server). if no neutral option (e.g. european vs north american), we could just alternate home/away teams.

Yes because when you have a competition where one can compete for a team specifically for their nation it makes people racists... this changes my outlook on the Olympics , the world cup and other various competitions....

My suggestion, assuming we do go the route of multiple US teams, would be to divide it some way other than regionally (perhaps just arbitrarily would work just fine). I say this because there are very few players on the west here and I doubt there would actually be a legit 6 man team to be fielded. Even in the regional thing over a year ago it was really tough for me to get six people from the west. I think our six was myself, fusion, dorito, scorch, gaul, and sloth. sheen may have played a match or two as well, but looking at that roster, there's not a whole lot of dod being played.

This post has gone long enough. I've made my point. gl hf!

Definitely should split up US into regions. I can see 4 teams easily being filled from the US.. It should be more than just west/east. I can think of at least 7-8 players from Southern California alone that would play in this.

Is this a league or single/double elimination tournament? If its a league It sounds just like TPG Euro, which has been generally unsuccessful.

Exactly. He is no good because he is a pubstar. He would be good if he stopped playing just publics and open teams. I tried to convince him to do so, but he won't . Also he is Swedish. Not English.

To me I feel something like this is better suited for a bracket style single elimination tournament. I don't see it lasting if you have teams playing once every two weeks. These types of tournaments kinda bring a little spark to the community which seems to be dwindling away. I would also divide the brackets North America vs Europe. Just makes things easier as far as scheduling and ping differences. The winner of each bracket would face off in the finals. Designating matches on Sundays possibly only needing two weeks to complete the tournament.

North/South American Bracket

East
vs
West

Canada
vs
South

Brazil
vs
Argentina

North

vs
Southern California

European Bracket

UK

vs
France

Poland
vs
Spain

Denmark
vs
Germany

Holland

vs
Sweden

Teams/matches are just tossed in there as an example. This enables you to get more teams / players involved. I truly don't see a 'season' working out.

^^^ this makes the most sense to me. definitely prevents the commonality of the league dying down so immensely by the finals that most teams are FF winning their way through the end of the tourney. getting it all done ASAP keeps things fresh and poppin.

Much like when Arsenik wanted to play together and make team Switzerland. Even when many of them were french?
I would allow much if it helps teams play vs not play at all. But people have taken advantage of these kind of situations before.

Like you said. It would help the dutch if the dutch speaking belgiums would play with us, because we have no players to begin with and france has only x10 as many. Too bad all of the Belgiums that play this game speak french and I haven't seen a dutch speaking Belgium dod player play the game in maybe 7 years.

There are 100% 6 polish players willing to play, the only problem is they are giant faggots.

We had a scrim against the polish team.
-They refused to play us on any server but their own
-They refused to play anything but anzio
-They refused to play unless our whole team "tagged up"
-They got mad that 2 players were american and not Canadian.

GG faggots get ur diapers on because you are going to get RAPED by the western world. Prepare to be humbled.
