PICKSTEALERSIMPSON.
VERY VERY happy with my squad though. Got a tough first match, hopefully William Ward and Shogun are ready to bring the proverbial pain. I believe in them up in the apartments vs the powerhouse former finalist tandem of mista and milo. I felt like I got a couple of really major steals in KumKum and Tom, and Sir RWS will do his job well and do it while jumping higher than any world war 2 soldier could fathom. Going to be a fun match! I'm just glad I finally don't have to resort to using myself as a heavy in one of these drafts, I picked 4 guys who can heavy just to be absolutely sure rofl glhf everyone!
P.S. tony! idk what virusx told you but I picked him in the last draft. He played the first map, which we won, then he just left immediately because even after participating in a few of these tournaments, he apparently didn't understand that all the matches were played in a row. So we waited roughly 20 minutes for him to come back then we got danjhonson as an approved ringer. Then we waited again in between first and second half and virus popped back up. Unfortunately, he went on to not break 10 kills and actually TK'd all of us more with his stoss than he managed to get kills :/ (no offense virus, it was a rough half for you, it happens!) and we lost by 2 points to the eventual champions because of that half. I can say with absolute certainty that when it comes down to these tourneys, I'm one of the very few captains who always goes out of my way to use my chosen players and I have never pulled one of those horseshit subouts where a main or open player suddenly "didn't show up" and gets replaced by a top tier invite guy. But yeah I completely do understand the frustration from a lot of guys like Virus and some other players who have voiced their displeasure because they just got gayed by their captains for the sole purpose of trying to stack up a powerhouse draft team. That last tournament our first round opponents did that on donner, subbing out a main level brazillian to bring in vertex against us, while on our end shogun didn't show up for me until the 2nd half and we used a main player in his place (an excellent main player, Mr. Johnny Gale, but you get the picture). We ended up beating them with a last second cap out. Karma does not appreciate captains using poor sportsmanship!
And I hope that all the captains take note of that during this draft and make a real effort to actually get all of their players online and not just pretend you can't get a hold of one of your guys so you can grab one of the awesome ringers. ANYWAYS, BRING IT ON TEAM MILO!#!@#!#@ LET US DO THISSSSS MEN!

Re: TPG House Cup
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 - 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
Can someone explain how this benefited the "weaker player" admins during the draft process?

They were screwed either way you look at it. If they were 5-8 then milo jgn pb and beas would still get all of the "top" players and will prob still dominate, so I figured giving them the top 5 players at least may be the best option. Perhaps next time we should let the weaker players choose which spot they get.
Also, this is what happens when we don't get enough captains that are the same skill level... Hopefully this will encourage more people to volunteer next time so we can make it as balanced as possible
This is just for FUN and for everyone to just have a good time playing DoD..At the very least, the "weaker players" will be playing the other "weaker players" unless they make it to the final round. Then they can give the other teams a run for their money and who knows, there may be an upset.

Re: TPG House Cup
Though I entirely agree with jGn, that in THIS particular draft, considering the invite players ran out basically right at pb's 2nd pick it seemed a little fucky, you also have to agree jgn that the teams dont look TOO bad. And though the order seemed a bit fucked during the process, the 1st round matchups are all going to be incredibly close.
I think in the future we could consider, instead of handing out the draft order based on skill, hand out the option to choose your place in the draft, based on skill. I DO like how every captain is facing his equal captain in the first round.

I've just joined the ringer team for the case that someone could need a crappy, rusty & tired german ringer for the cup.

I guess there is a teamspeak server where you all show up later. Would be nice if anyone can write the ip here (or pm me), so I can jump in if anyone wants me to.

Re: TPG House Cup
just seen 4 players add them selves to the ringer roster after the time frame for starting .... not cool what about the rest of us who signed up before hand when announced .... suggestion lock the ringer roster midnight before the tournament starts so no additions can be made .....

2014, denying ringers in dod, and complaining about being unhittable when you have 200+ and 100+ pingers on your team lol. #footinmouthmore

Re: TPG House Cup
and i think aftershock the reason they left it open, was because the idea is to replace your missing player with someone of a similar skill. So if it was left open for anyone to join, there was a better chance of that happening.
It's nothing personal man
It's just that, it was a one-night, 48-man draft. Because it was only an 8-team Tournament, most teams were pretty stacked, meaning you'd need a pretty good ringer to replace the pretty good player you're missing.
I wish you the best of luck finding a home in the regular season, I'll say from personal experience it was great having you on my team when I needed you, and you were always a fun player to play with. Sorry you didn't get in the action
