It's been a while since I've ventured onto 1911. To whoever still peruses these boards, hope you're well! I'm going through my social media to promote a free weekend for my book, Beakers Dozen, and it didn't feel complete without making a trip onto 1911. i enjoyed the premise and story line. the school was really interesting, although as john was driving there, i felt like a woman screaming at the movie theater for him not to go there. good thing he couldn't hear me.

part 1 was really similar to the walking dead's first season, which wasn't a bad thing. it was my favorite part of the book i think.

part 2 kind of lost me a bit. i think i wanted to learn more about richard and why everything had happened.

part 3 brought me back into it. i really liked the dynamic of the school and how it fit into the new world. for some reason i didn't really like atsu's group coming, but i don't really know why...

i thought the narration was really good. i could visualize a lot of stuff pretty easily.

the dialogue kinda sounded like 90s video game dialogue to me. it got really cheesey sometimes. i can't imagine how hard it must be to write dialogue for so many unique characters. i also feel like everyone in the world had a really sarcastic sense of humor about everything which i found a little odd.

it was a good, easy read. i even read it while not pooping sometimes. thanks!

I've had a few people say this to me throughout the year. Even had one person tell me before I published it. The reason I never changed it was I wrote those beginning scenes before Walking Dead ever aired back in 2010. They fit into the way I felt the world needed to be shown, and I could never get myself to change it.

I agree. Hindsight, I wish I had fleshed out that back story some more. I had ideas and storylines worked out but wanted to avoid getting lost in flashbacks and memories.

I haven't looked at it since publishing in January, so I don't recall too much of this. When I finally decide to take a chance and read it fresh, I'll keep an eye out for it.

Glad you enjoyed it, and even read it while not pooping. That's the best compliment I can get.
