Just after the halfway point of the season it’s all downhill to the CALi playoffs. It’s shakedown week with some new clans to boot in CALi, along with some clans right on the cusp needing a few wins to propel themselves into the playoffs. Also, there are only two undefeated teams left in CALi, and after this week there will only be one. All eyes will be on LoL (#teamlol, 4-0) vs. Vigilante Elite (#teamve, 4-0), whenever they actually decide to play their match (looks like Thursday or Monday.) The new kids on the block, the uKz (#uKz, 0-0) have a match against Neo Hunting Nation (#NHN, 2-2), a clan that is very much in the thick of the CALi playoff hunt, but a loss tonight will most definitely drop them out of contention. Quite possibly the least (or most?) entertaining match of the season takes place tonight as rav (#team.rav, 0-4) takes on rltw (#rltw, 0-4), in a match where the Frenchies take on a rltw squad that got nipped by LoL last week. After last week’s performance, rook has a bulls eye on his chest and it will be interesting if he can play well again. Another intriguing match pitches netplaySports (#netplaySports, 2-2) against soLution (#soLution, 2-2.) Both these teams have talent on their rosters, some old school names going for both teams in Beas for soLution and UnSurreal/DS for netplaySports. Netplay is coming off a rough loss to Fx, if they lose tonight I don’t expect them to contend for a playoff spot. The last intriguing match of the night pits two upper-tier CALi teams as the Jekyll and Hyde xeno (#xeno, 3-1) goes against the team we love to hate in highball (#highball, 3-1.) xeno had a promising start to their season by reeling of three straight wins to start the year, until they ran into a roadblock against UH, and highball has been having another solid season, only losing to ve last week by 11, should be a good match with two teams that should be factors in the playoffs.
The map for tonight’s matches was dod_donner, a perennial classic, the remade dod_thunder which requires a lot of teamwork, and is also known for its tight margins of victory.
