Re: World Series (for those who care)
who's playing?
Re: World Series (for those who care)
Cardinals win. Rangers = good offense, shitty pitching. Cardinals are an all around better team. welcome to the NL where your pitcher is going to have to bat, GL with that.

Re: World Series (for those who care)
Rangers take it. Their strong offense is enough to overcome other deficiencies they have compared to the Cardinals. Plus, I'm rooting for the ex-Red, Josh Hamilton. Still can't believe they got rid of him...
Re: World Series (for those who care)
Well last year I said the Rangers would take it and they should have. Saying the same thing this year. The Giants' offensive explosion during last year's WS was a total fluke.
The Cards are a weaker opponent than the Giants were. And the Rangers' pitching isn't terrible. The rotation was very good throughout the regular season; they're just in a slump at the moment. Hopefully that'll turn around for this series. I'm counting on CJ to put up some really good innings this WS so he can up his free agent value. His problem is that he thinks he's such a grandmaster pitching wizard and everyone is playing checkers while he's playing chess. Oh, it's their number 8 hitter who bats .230 for the year and has gotten 2 hits in his last 20 at bats? Let me start the AB with a backdoor slider. Ugh...
Anyways, Rangers pitchers are due. Cards pitchers are probably due for some good appearances as well. I think it'll be a lower scoring affair than I'm hearing people predict.
EDIT: Actually Rangers batters have actually fared pretty well in interleague play. I think CJ got a triple this year, Colby Lewis a home run. Maybe one of those was last year. So maybe they'll do something positive ><

Re: World Series (for those who care)
to me this is pretty difficult to call, and id be surprised if it wasnt a close series. going to 7 games, which is fairly likely, would be awesome.
Re: World Series (for those who care)
Indeed. The Tigers series was really great. Hopefully this one will be good too. Even if the Rangers end up losing, I'd like it to be more entertaining than the Giants series. That one was just crappy all around.
Re: World Series (for those who care)
Fuck St. Louis. I'm pulling for the Rangers.
I think the Rangers have better hitting and the Cardinals pitching doesn't put the fear of god in me.

Eh I think baseball is a sport you really have to have played to appreciate. If you didn't grow up with it you just don't get it (usually).

Re: World Series (for those who care)
Game 1 was pretty weak, imo.
I did have to listen to it on the radio, but still. Just was so conservative that it had me yawning more than a regular season game.
Still though, having lived in tejas for so many years, Texas comes next right behind my red sox.
Tx in 7... I hope...

Three more to go!
Re: World Series (for those who care)
glad these teams are winning the games because of the other teams one mistake.... makes for good baseball for the select fans that can see this happening...Don't think texas would of won if albert cut that ball off, BIG mistake there.
Re: World Series (for those who care)
Fuck the Cardinals. Woo.

Cardinals pitching can't hand Hamilton. Rangers have a good chance to win if they hold holiday and that dorky first basemen

yeah that "dorky" first basemen, he's only one of the greatest players to EVER play the game. no big deal.

Yep, by the time I turned it off he only was 4 for 5 with 2 HRs. How much more of a whale penis can you be?!?!?!nugz` wrote:Black Hawk wrote:Cardinals pitching can't hand Hamilton. Rangers have a good chance to win if they hold holiday and that dorky first basemen

Re: World Series (for those who care)
Wow what a performance by Holland. This is turning out to be a great series!
Now hopefully CJ can actually pitch like the ace he's supposed to be. He should get a nice paycheck from the Yankees in free agency based on his 2.94 ERA for the regular season, but he's only hurting his dollar value with every successive crappy postseason display..

Look at A-Rod, his post-season play sucks beyond measure, but he still makes the big bucks!Rob wrote:Wow what a performance by Holland. This is turning out to be a great series!

Re: World Series (for those who care)
Yeah well before getting his contract Rodriguez never had a chance to play in the playoffs. He just had like 5 MVP caliber regular seasons in a row.
EDIT: guess he did have a bit of playoff experience with Seattle, not much though.

No TV at home, was going to go to the bar and watch but apparently none of my friends watch baseball. Didn't want to be that guy, lol.
Just caught the last few innings on a stream, was pretty crazy.

Re: World Series (for those who care)
Feldman ruined it in the 5th. I thought they would have pulled him sortly after that homer. Then Wilson walks on and scores another for the cards? fucking gg. Way to lose 2 world series in a row.

not going to say it's over like you are already, it's only the 6th inning. either way, GO Cardinals.
not a Cards fan but i will root for the NL in the world series over anyone from the AL, unless it's the Mets in the series. ;>
