Check so the correct networkcard/adapter is being used.
If there are other networks it might interfere.

Make sure nothing is hindering your NAT connection also, some ISP's suck when it comes to NAT.

you could use a frequency wher several other router/switches are sending on, there is software which analyses these kind of stuff and gives you the best frequency band you should use.
there should be somewhere a option ion the router settings to send on several frequencys, this should be activated to get it faster or at least always the best possible connection.
if the hardware, network card/w-lan stick and router are from different manufactures sometimes they wont work together for some reason, it's probably like if you are useing the firefox for a internet explorer optimized homepage sometimes you will expierience trouble.
