Something strange happend with the database when we updated the forum software and it corrupted the old ghetto theme. So, for the time being we may have to deal with the default.

This is only temporary. Moving along now...

this forum skin is dope as hell and 100x better than the other shit. i dont know if this is just temporary until you restore the exact stuff you had before the crash, or if it is going to be the new skin, but it's awesome. i vote to keep this.

This is the new theme I've been working on.

It is very beta at this point so there will be bugs left to be worked out (like image sizing).

But, I thought I had it to the point that we could go ahead and use it for now as I fix the little things.

eyes breaking how? i think it looks nice. not sure about the screenshots or image sizing, but eric says he's fixing that.

and i have a feeling if i said it sucked, you would say how awesome it was. that seems to be how you've acted towards me the past few years for some reason.

screenshots work fine on the draft page for me.. dunno if it has to deal with resolution tho (1920x1080)

if you say so. i have felt indifferent to your existence since i stopped playing dod, i guess that makes me a dick. if you think i dislike you, i'm sorry that's the way you feel. i don't think i have ever gone out of my way to look for chances to disagree with you. i think of you the same way i think of anyone that has no impact on my daily life and with whom i have had little interaction over the years. believing that i would post something just to say the opposite of something you said is vain.

eric: sorry for the hyperbole. this skin isn't as bad as i made out in that other post, it just feels a little cluttered, undefined, and a bit harder to see the important information. i'm sure once i get used to it, it'll feel the same as the old.

It is what it is.

Unfortunately, the old theme just stopped working with the new phpbb update (which included security fixes). When I tried to hack around it to get it working again, it totally broke the forums and the front-page and I had to do a clean install and restore from backup in the middle of the night. We got pretty lucky that I didn't lose everything.

There are things that I like about this theme. It's a lot sharper, and it's based on the newer phpbb rather than the decade old code. But, there are also plenty of little things that I don't like that I'll be getting around to fixing as we go.

This is very beta, and I wasn't done fixing bugs when we were forced to upgrade before it was ready due to everything breaking.

I understand that this community is incredibly resistant to change by nature, and I would have much rather waited to roll out the newer versions of 1911 until I was finished developing it, but my hand was forced when the shit hit the fan last night.

It's an adjustment yeah. Like I said, it's not perfect, it was never thought to be, it just is what it is.

Let's try not to miss the point here. The old phpbb2 theme is no longer an option. It simply will not work. It's either this or the default theme for now.

Yeah. I'm sure everyone appreciates the work you're doing here, I certainly do. Are there any tools available to play around with the new phpBB themes? It'd be cool to be able to help you out with some of the stuff.

My overall goal here is to find some happy medium between this style and the old one, and I'll have that up and running just as soon as a I can (forum themes take a LONG time to build from scratch).

This currently has a lot of little bugs (image resizing, quote system, text/signature alignment, etc), but the overall style is much more modern browser friendly, and can work for us in the short time.

I appreciate the patience. It's a one man show.

Most of them are completely terrible and useless. This one is the Lucid Lime theme, but with all the colors/individual images changed. I really don't mind it so much, just little things that need fixing.
