take your god damn purse off and work through it. If you would quit doing phaggy full body routines you could work around the DOMS.

Just see how you feel after a warm up set or two. If you think there's too much soreness, then just tone it back a bit. If you think you can handle it, try to stay on schedule with the routine.
Agreed, or try alternatives to using weight until the soreness goes away. I hurt my back doing squats when i first started b/c i had awful form. I did pistol squats for a couple of weeks until it was better.

Where specifically? Foam rollers are great, especially for lower body.

If you're in pain, I'd hold off on lifting all together. That's just temporary and it'll fade once you're in a consistent routine. I've never been a fan of lifting when really sore, especially for people who are relatively new to lifting. That's just me, though. If you are going to lift, I would just suggest you stretch up good and go light (less weight, and not lifting to failure).

My goals are nothing like yours. My goal is to be faster at cycling. I don't lift to get hyooge and pull 700 pounds or to fight other bros. I lift for general conditioning.

You called me out. Don't forget that, broski. I don't lift to be a muscle man, and apparently that's your criteria needed to be able to talk about lifting. Sears' goals differ from mine, hence him being a fan of mass + strength. Those aren't my goals. Doesn't mean I don't know just as much as he does from an empirical standpoint.
stile wrote:Grappling may not be the best thing to do for strength gains, but it is the one of the best ways to learn how to use your whole body and work all your muscles. If having a strong core is one of the most important things, jiujitsu will give that to you.

You'd be surprised how many people get confused on how to do an elbow escape, roll over their shoulder, or go inverted. Like you said the goals are different, you want to lift weights and go ride a bike, I want to choke people for a living. It is only as hard as you train. I've never done anything that was harder than a jiujitsu match.
No quarrel here. Don't take my post as me saying "jiu jitsu is easy." No doubt it's hard and it teaches you certain aspects of strength. But for someone to call it the best is just way too much an exaggeration.

Lol, that's not true. I fuck around on here, but if you spent 2 minutes in the misc you'd see I'm nothing like them. Especially in this thread.
Jb_ wrote:Agreed. Stile knows exactly what Im talking about. So who gives a shit about how much weight you can lift. Polaski got his ass kicked by Tim Syliva! and if you don't know who he is just google the goofy bastard.
I can't bench press 350, haha. Not that many people can, relatively speaking. When the fuck are we ever going to fight? Why the hell do you think I care if you can beat me up? That means as little to me as does me claiming that I could destroy you on the bike. Somehow, I doubt you care. Similarly, I could not care less if someone who is a trained fighter can...beat me...at...fighting...
