and i think aftershock the reason they left it open, was because the idea is to replace your missing player with someone of a similar skill. So if it was left open for anyone to join, there was a better chance of that happening.

It's nothing personal man :) It's just that, it was a one-night, 48-man draft. Because it was only an 8-team Tournament, most teams were pretty stacked, meaning you'd need a pretty good ringer to replace the pretty good player you're missing.

I wish you the best of luck finding a home in the regular season, I'll say from personal experience it was great having you on my team when I needed you, and you were always a fun player to play with. Sorry you didn't get in the action

tenks what i meant was the last person to sign up was on the 20.03.2014 then 4 more on the night after the 6 pm start time is what i am complaining about ... not being a ringer and not being able to play

Re: TPG House Cup

by tenks » Sun Mar 23, 2014 7:16 pm

2014, denying ringers in dod, and complaining about being unhittable when you have 200+ and 100+ pingers on your team lol. #footinmouthmore

to victory!

Re: TPG House Cup

just seen 4 players add them selves to the ringer roster after the time frame for starting .... not cool what about the rest of us who signed up before hand when announced .... suggestion lock the ringer roster midnight before the tournament starts so no additions can be made ..... :x

Re: TPG House Cup

We have the most interesting team names TPG has ever seen in a Cup Tournament.

Team 1 = Team 1
Team 2 = Team 2
Team 3 = Team 3
Team 4 = Team 4
Team 5 = Team 5
Team 6 = Team 6
Team 7 = Team 7
Team 8 = Team 8

+ rep to the captains.

Re: TPG House Cup

Though I entirely agree with jGn, that in THIS particular draft, considering the invite players ran out basically right at pb's 2nd pick it seemed a little fucky, you also have to agree jgn that the teams dont look TOO bad. And though the order seemed a bit fucked during the process, the 1st round matchups are all going to be incredibly close.

I think in the future we could consider, instead of handing out the draft order based on skill, hand out the option to choose your place in the draft, based on skill. I DO like how every captain is facing his equal captain in the first round.

Can someone explain how this benefited the "weaker player" admins during the draft process?

They were screwed either way you look at it. If they were 5-8 then milo jgn pb and beas would still get all of the "top" players and will prob still dominate, so I figured giving them the top 5 players at least may be the best option. Perhaps next time we should let the weaker players choose which spot they get.

Also, this is what happens when we don't get enough captains that are the same skill level... Hopefully this will encourage more people to volunteer next time so we can make it as balanced as possible

This is just for FUN and for everyone to just have a good time playing DoD..At the very least, the "weaker players" will be playing the other "weaker players" unless they make it to the final round. Then they can give the other teams a run for their money and who knows, there may be an upset.

VERY VERY happy with my squad though. Got a tough first match, hopefully William Ward and Shogun are ready to bring the proverbial pain. I believe in them up in the apartments vs the powerhouse former finalist tandem of mista and milo. I felt like I got a couple of really major steals in KumKum and Tom, and Sir RWS will do his job well and do it while jumping higher than any world war 2 soldier could fathom. Going to be a fun match! I'm just glad I finally don't have to resort to using myself as a heavy in one of these drafts, I picked 4 guys who can heavy just to be absolutely sure rofl glhf everyone!

P.S. tony! idk what virusx told you but I picked him in the last draft. He played the first map, which we won, then he just left immediately because even after participating in a few of these tournaments, he apparently didn't understand that all the matches were played in a row. So we waited roughly 20 minutes for him to come back then we got danjhonson as an approved ringer. Then we waited again in between first and second half and virus popped back up. Unfortunately, he went on to not break 10 kills and actually TK'd all of us more with his stoss than he managed to get kills :/ (no offense virus, it was a rough half for you, it happens!) and we lost by 2 points to the eventual champions because of that half. I can say with absolute certainty that when it comes down to these tourneys, I'm one of the very few captains who always goes out of my way to use my chosen players and I have never pulled one of those horseshit subouts where a main or open player suddenly "didn't show up" and gets replaced by a top tier invite guy. But yeah I completely do understand the frustration from a lot of guys like Virus and some other players who have voiced their displeasure because they just got gayed by their captains for the sole purpose of trying to stack up a powerhouse draft team. That last tournament our first round opponents did that on donner, subbing out a main level brazillian to bring in vertex against us, while on our end shogun didn't show up for me until the 2nd half and we used a main player in his place (an excellent main player, Mr. Johnny Gale, but you get the picture). We ended up beating them with a last second cap out. Karma does not appreciate captains using poor sportsmanship! :D And I hope that all the captains take note of that during this draft and make a real effort to actually get all of their players online and not just pretend you can't get a hold of one of your guys so you can grab one of the awesome ringers. ANYWAYS, BRING IT ON TEAM MILO!#!@#!#@ LET US DO THISSSSS MEN!

Just throwing this out there for anyone, but I know for a fact that Sp|der has on multiple occasions given his child Benadryl so he can play a dod match. I hate to think of the neglect his child would incur if he had to play three matches in a night.

Captain Pick Order:
  1. Hopper
  2. Knugz
  3. Sp|der
  4. TonyMontana
  5. Beas
  6. PB
  7. Jgn
  8. Milo
Draft Document:

Captains will meet in Fury vent at 1030 est (or before if everyone is on - check in with MILO#2 before hand) Sunday March 16 (tomorrow night) to pick their teams.

Thank You to those that volunteered to be a Captain!

I guess you missed the point. Its lame when someone goes out of there way to piss people off and purposely make sure they don't have a good time. He's purposely picking a shitty team with people who don't like each other. He's obviously still butthurt about this VirusX experience and is taking it to heart. He's sandbagging a team on purpose. Why would I wanna play with someone like that? If he picked competently, IE the best available player/gun then I would have no issues being picked by him. But he won't do that. He bases his picks on who's jimmies he can rustle the most, not who can best help him win. Get off this popularity contest shit, it doesn't even apply, he's being captain just to sandbag and troll. It's pathetic.

The dude will pick FLUX as his first pick in a 12man just to piss people off when Milo, JgN, Kaboom, nomis and taylor are still sitting in spec. 10 mins later 12man dies. Sorry thats not why I signed up.

I think it would actually be pretty funny if he does pick you guys, maybe it's part of a grand strategy to knock out two good players out of rotation.

As annoying and dumb Tony can come off sometimes, I never had any issues with him. Leaving or not playing simply because he picked you is lame.

that is the reason i haven't played in any tpg cup's for a while ... the last 2 i was on i never played a single round ... and i know others who feel the same way as well ... there are people who want to play ... but know they will never play a round ... so why do we even try to enter ... so that is another reason i dont play dod or in TPG anymore ..... is that its all about popularity and who is doing who ... not who wants to play ...

There are lots of ppl out there that want to play that dont care what team they end up on.
Once they find out you picked them they will.

Every time you captain a 12man, it dies. Just like your team in this cup will. Good luck fielding 6 next Sunday

The truth is Tony, having only played in one cup, I'd like to have fun and enjoy myself. I wanna play with people that actually do what i tell them and know what i want them to do. IE not you. It's not a popularity contest, I just think you're a shitty captain and threatening to pick players I dont think are good just proves my point even further. Its as simple as that.

Now if you were an amazing captain during 12mans and showed any type of competence on picking a well distributed team, I'd have no issues with you being a captain. But since you can't pick a team that I think is good enough, the issue remains.

Don't take it personal though. I'm just #stupidasfuck

I pick 12mans all the time and the teams are fine, but you wouldnt know that with your head in your ass. I often go against spider because it is even, and we both always pick really good teams. Now i really am going to pick you 100% so just go get your ball and go home and ask your momma to make you a grilled cheese sandwhich.

If in your next post you compliment my playstyle and say sorry I wont pick you. Otherwise, drop, and join the ringer squad you loud-mouthed retard. There are lots of ppl out there that want to play that dont care what team they end up on.

Maybe to you this is a massive popularity contest, a chance for you to take ur dick out and say "ooo everybody look at me!!! i got picked in the first round by the cool kids look how fucking awesome i am!!" You nerds make me sick sometimes. The last champions kicked the worst player off their team so they could use a good ringer and win WTF is that. And you come on here, talking about ME ruining the draft. You're such a fucking retard dude. You probably SHOULD drop if you care that much, because anyone who would drop because it didnt turn out the way they wanted, THEY THEMSELVES are ruining it. dork.

I've played with and am familiar with all 48 players in the draft. I'm on all the time. I will pick what I believe to be the best players available to me at the time, and you can believe that doesnt include any crybaby nerd who thinks he's important, playing a 12 year old online game.

But then again maybe i will pick you. so just drop plz
