Controlling how mid is played is the most important. You cap it when you control how it is played. There are reasons why teams can spam-cap the map, and it has very little to do with immediately flooding into middle and sitting there waiting to get picked off by the opposing team or dying to easy grenade tosses. Jaggon playing 1 v 2 and just constantly pummelling a team in mid means he controls it without having to cap it. It means another portion of the map is overloaded with his team and they're controlling the game.
The cap of mid will come and the other team will be struggling to get out of spawn.
Good thing there are 2 other flags on that map that let you get points.
okay? well when you're down 70 points in the 2nd half with 7 minutes left you need to cap out, correct? correct me if i am wrong, but i don't think you can cap out with out capping middle..
and when you're up 70 points in the 2nd half with 7 minutes left you know the other team needs to cap out so i would say it's a pretty decent bet that the winning team is going to be playing as defensively on middle as possible. literally the only thought process that goes through a good player's mind in that situation is to try and at least delay the other team capping mid (as dan said) and peeking out against 2-4 enemies while you are one of 2 people alive is not the way to delay anything and in fact is the complete opposite. close matches on harrington are won and lost by little things like sucking it up and playing like a faggot sometimes for the sake of keeping control of the map. if im last alive in mid and i know 2 or 3 guys are coming to try and cap, all im trying to do is kill 1 and engage the others in some sort of fire fight so my team has time to respawn and pepper middle with grenades, which is exactly what continuously happened and is why we were able to win. the arguments you're making throughout the thread are really kind of ridiculous. you've played the game long enough to understand what happened in that match and why it happened. i would think that being a protege of habib like you are that you would have expected most of this, hiding in midhouse when your team is dying on harrington is habib dod 101. and i never personally attacked you, you're just the most defensive human being in the world right now over a dod match that was actually a really well played match overall and was probably fun for everyone to watch, you just aren't happy with the results so you apparently can't see that. you're the only person on your team that I've spoken to about this whole thing that had any problem with how we/i played at all, or even a problem with anything in the match in general. you've played me on harrington at least 3 or 4 times now and ive done the same thing each and every time, not to mention im sure you've watched me play harrington finals matches before, this isn't some new tactic that i invented 2 days ago, it's something that has been done and used successfully a lot for a long time.
and to top it off, you showed an immense amount of poor sportsmanship talking shit in mm1 mid match, disputing out of spite, and then coming on here and continuing the shit talking. you lost the match. did we do any of this shit after we lost to iwa 2 seasons ago? no. we took the loss, licked our wounds, and came back the next season a stronger team. if you chose to do the same thing we could be back here in 5 months talking about the same match going the opposite way, but instead you're dwelling on something that's done and over with and handling it in a horrible way that is probably making the dod community in general just think less and less of you and more highly of your team mates for actually being gracious after losing and not going crazy talking shit, making excuses and trying to dispute out of spite. i would have never ever thought that out of everyone on your team you would act the least mature. gg to all you guys especially the other 5, frank adam andrew jiggy and milo played a great game and i gained a lot of respect for the 5 of you both as players and for the way you handled everything outside of the game after the match. hopefully we'll see you guys again in the finals next season and put on another good match for the community.

(playing as axis) If you control long/upper and lower connector making the hell of allies spawn areas it will def be more easier to bait other routes guys attention for getting mid/ladder/mountain which both in my opinion are heavily allies sided on mountain and mid.
After I ready seanality/scorch commentaries I felt like a champ because I always have said to the peers of my previous teams that by flanking in mountain/long first to get mid after is better than just try capping mid like there no other flag in the entire harrington, so hurray!
actually i do recall a thread about seven being made for playing gay on donner.. but that's donner. i said congrats like twice already lol.
i don't think i've talked shit.. the only shit talking has come from yourself.. i just said the game could have been more enjoyable had i not gotten shot in the back 40 times. i'm sure you've had the same done to you before, and it isn't very fun!

If he did this for the entire game, shouldn't you have known to check mid house? Seems like if you would just have checked things, you wouldn't have gotten shot in the back.

i actually probably killed taylor 5 times the entire match and i would guesstimate only two or three of those times were from mid house at all, which is the most confusing part of the whole hiding in mid house complaint right now lol
no need to argue about that.. but i remember getting shot from upper connector in the back, mid house a couple times, and coming out of allies mtn spawn in the back as well..
If you got shot in the back from upper connector, doesn't that just mean that your long team failed to prevent a push and didn't call it? Or he pushed up onto your side of the map and played it slow and smart.
